In the quiet of the morning, soft and bright
The sun peeks over hills, painting skies with light.
Birds chirp sweet melodies, a gentle embrace,
Nature awakens, revealing her grace.
Yet shadows linger, whispering low,
Unease creeps in, as the wind starts to blow.
The vibrant hues fade, replaced by a gray,
A storm brews above, chasing calmness away.
With thunder’s roar, the world is upturned,
Hope flickers dimly, as the heart feels spurned.
Raindrops like daggers, relentless and cold,
The beauty of morning, now a tale retold.
But through the tempest, a flicker remains,
A spark in the darkness, where resilience gains.
For after the storm, the sun will arise,
And colors will dance once again in the skies.
I was inspired by my observation of nature’s awakening at dawn, including themes of renewal, hope, and resilience. Starting from an observation of a morning scene, from the peaceful sunrise to an approaching storm. There is more to nature than meets the eye, if you take time to sit outside and endure the nature around you, you’ll notice the beauty surrounding you. The way it awakens, the challenges that life can bring, like a storming disrupting the calm. In order to prevent the poem from seeming vague or basic, I used synonyms for moderate vocabulary that make the poem more vivid and detailed. The focus in the poem on hope and resilience was inspired by an idea of overcoming difficulties and finding light even in the darkest of times, portraying the strength of the human spirit.
