4/22/2019 Port Canaveral Florida. We had to very carefully schedule our stops in Florida for 2 reasons; #1 Winter RV camping in Florida is impossible because of all the snow birds. Campgrounds are booked out a year or more in advance. #2 Spring Break throws another wrench into things once the Snow Birds leave. Adding another layer into the mix, this particular campground we are staying at is the closest beach to Orlando, which makes it wildly popular with the locals. However, we managed to thread our way in and got a spot to stay here.

Also, if you’ve ever been on a cruise that hailed out of Port Canaveral, you sailed right by our campground. We REALLY enjoyed watching all these massive ships come and go!

4/23/2019 Cape Canaveral National Seashore. This probably isn’t the most well known National Park in the nation, but it is very nice and it was a very quiet day for us to enjoy the park.

Hermit crabs were EVERYWHERE along the shoreline. Once you stared to notice them, the lagoon floor was teeming with them!

4/24/2019 Kennedy Space Center. The big lure the campground was its close proximity to the Space Center. I’ve wanted to go here for quite some time, so I was very happy to finally have the opportunity to see it.

There was this water fountain that would shoot up a jet of water every once and awhile. Dylan and Grace enjoyed tempting fate by trying to jump over it without getting blasted with water. I tried very hard to capture them getting soaked, but they outwitted the water every time.

Here you are charged with fixing the space station during a space walk. This “game” reads your body movements and mimics them on the screen. I’m pretty sure Dylan got the job done.

This “Game” challenges you to send the Shuttle into space, but you have to be careful not to blast off with too much force or you overshoot orbit…..too little thrust and you land in some foreign country without ever having made it to space!

This was pretty fun for the little ones; it’s a kid’s play area that is supposed to be somewhat like the Space Station. The clear tubes connect sections of the “Space Station” but are also 20 feet off the floor below! Lots of smiles on kid's faces on this one!
