Welcome to Blackthorn Valley, the abandoned and dilapidated town my best friends and I just purchased!
My supernatural girl friends and I have our hands full fixing up various parts of the town and dealing with a ghost in our new house.
It’s a tough job, even for a powerful witch like me, and there’s absolutely no time for anything else, especially not a hot werewolf I accidentally summoned from across the country.
But I’m going to have to make time, cause Guy is like something out of my hottest fantasies.
Everything is great, until we discover that orcs are trying to take over the town!
Will I be able to balance all this chaos and not lose my head, or my new mate?

A quick paranormal read that features the sweetest found family and fated mates.Â
Belle and her three best friends, Mindy, Shelley, and Cordelia, have recently purchased the town of Blackthorn Valley and are preparing to turn it into a safe haven for monsters of all kinds. A ton of work goes into restoring an entire dilapidated town, so the four get to work immediately. When Belle accidentally summons a werewolf by the name of Guy to Blackthorn Valley, the alpha decides to move his pack into town. With the town already growing, Belle believes that her dream may actually be within reach. That is, until she learns that several groups of orcs and trolls believe that the land belongs to them. Now, Belle and her friends must work alongside the werewolves to protect their town from all that threatens it.Â
I must admit, monster romances are still hitting so hard for me. I've been reading a ton of them as of late, and I haven't gotten sick of them in the slightest. This one is a great one to add to my list of cozy monster romances, and I'm glad the author gave me a chance to read it.
My favorite part of this book is definitely the found family aspect. Belle's friend group are all different species and sport quite different personalities, but it is clear from the start that they will do anything for one another. Belle is a green-skinned witch, Cordelia is a demon, Shelley is half-siren, and Mindy is a human that is pretending to be a vampire. The variety in the initial cast of characters is quite fun and has me excited to check out all the future installments in this series. Adding Guy's pack of werewolves to the mix only added to the found family vibes and I was totally here for it.Â
The romance between Belle and Guy is pretty typical. Guy is a possessive alpha male that attaches himself to Belle (his mate) as soon as he meets her. He is very polite and doesn't overwhelm Belle and share they are fated mates on their first meeting, which I thought was sweet of him. Despite his nice boy exterior, he does sleep outside her window without her permission, which is a tad creepy, but I guess he was leaning into the Edward Cullen vibe (and I'm pretty sure Belle was into it, so whatever). Belle doesn't throw herself at him instantly, but it doesn't take long before she gives into the fated bond. Mate situations are always interesting in romances, but I feel it was pulled off pretty well in this book.Â
Some of the monster lore in this series is different than I've read in prior paranormal books. For one, Belle as a witch has green skin, which isn't super unique, but not something you see every day either. The most interesting piece of lore that I found was that the gargoyles actually turn into stone statues during the day and come alive at night. I haven't read many gargoyle books as of yet, but that was a cool detail that I've never came across before. Atlas was one of my favorite characters, so it excites me that his romance is up next!Â
This one does read very much like "Legends & Latte" (with spice). By this I mean a group of people enters a town and has to repair one thing after another. First, they start out with the mayor's house. Then, they move onto a neighborhood for the werewolves to life. After that, they start revitalizing streetlights, etc. I'm not always a fan of these "restore the whatever" types of cozy fantasies, but I think it worked well in this one due to the fact it's not super long and the characters are all interesting individuals.Â
Also, why are other monsters so racist towards trolls and orcs? I've read several series now in which orcs and trolls are treated horribly and I find it so confusing. I'm hoping that eventually Belle and the other founders will accept the orcs and trolls into their town, but I guess I'll have to wait and see.Â
I'm glad to report the spicy scenes were kept to a minimum. It always bothers me when short books such as this one are half smut, but there are only a couple sexy scenes towards the very end of this one and they are pretty mild, so definitely not overwhelmingly spicy.Â
This one actually ends on a bit of a cliffhanger, which has me really wanting to read book two sooner rather than later. I feel like the reveal won't be anything too shocking, but I also have no idea what is going to happen, so who knows? A cliffhanger in a cozy fantasy is a new one for me, but I'm not mad about it.Â
Overall, "Bewitched on Werewolf Way" is a fun paranormal read with a fun cast of diverse monsters. Belle and Guy's romance wasn't anything too crazy special, but I love seeing the found family these two create together. Seeing Belle's found family merge with Guy's pack was so sweet, and I'm excited to see the town grow in future installments. This one is such a quick read that balances romantic and sexual tension quite beautifully. I'd definitely check out more books in this series, as the town of Blackthorn Valley is so cozy and the cast of characters are awesome!Â

Welcome to Blackthorn Valley, the once abandoned, no longer completely dilapidated, work in progress town I purchased with my magical three best friends. A safe and welcoming town for monsters of all kinds.
Yet, before newcomers can settle, I’ve decided to host them in one of the apartments in my building. Asking them to come, pick the home they want and then return to the human world for months while they wait for it to be renovated is just cruel.
My days are filled with getting into a mysteriously locked library, dealing with a ghost who hates us, and building up the rest of the town, making sure everyone feels at home.
It doesn’t matter how busy I get; my thoughts will constantly drift back to Atlas, the stone-cold hottie…get it? Because he’s a gargoyle! He swooped in as the protector of Blackthorn Valley and stole my heart. Yet, I can’t even get him to look in my direction, let alone talk to me.
That is until one snowy night when I give him no choice but to notice me.
Will Atlas and I be able to find love, or will the weight of our responsibilities to the town be too much?
