A fated avalanche. A week with the Alpha. One discovery that changes everything.
When Junie Watts finds herself stranded in a snowstorm, she never imagined her rescuer would be the very creature she’s been told to fear: a brooding, dark-haired werewolf shifter. After three years without a break, Junie is forced to confront her work-life balance—and maybe, just maybe, her own desires.
Silas Woodfield has always put his pack first, but the arrival of a sassy, curly-haired human threatens that. Between being spellbound to never have a mate and taking over the entire North, Silas can’t afford distractions. Still, when he insists Junie stay in his cabin for her safety, their snowed-in week turns into something neither of them expected.
As rogue packs close in, Silas is more convinced than ever that claiming a mate would be a mistake. Unfortunately for him, Junie is determined to change their fate.
Mated for the Holiday is a cozy, medium-heat, shifter romance. Tropes include: snowed in, strangers to lovers, and fated mates. This is a companion novel to Hexed for the Holiday, a witchy, paranormal romance. Perfect for fans of the grumpy banter in Mate by Ali Hazelwood, the small-town feel of Lovelight Farms by B.K. Borison, or the thrill of encountering the unknown in Ice Planet Barbarians by Ruby Dixon.

Review: 🌟🌟🌟
An unbreakable bond is formed when a sassy baker encounters a grumpy werewolf in this fantasy rom com.Â
Junie Watts knew better than to push her luck, but she really wanted to get home before that snowstorm blew through. When she finds herself trapped on the mountainside, she wasn't expecting to be rescued by a pack of werewolves, that's for sure. Now, Junie's staying with the pack Alpha, Silas, who she can't help but feel attracted to. With no way to leave and no one else to spend time with than Silas, Junie finds herself growing closer and closer to the mysterious werewolf with each passing day.Â
I've been really into paranormal romances as of late, so I figured I'd add this one to the list. It was a solid enough rom com, though I fear that the holiday vibes weren't very strong.Â
When I first started this one, I was quite impressed by the humor. I found myself giggling aloud due to how sassy Junie is. I found her pessimism to be quite comical, and I just enjoyed her vibe. Then Silas walked in with his overly possessive, brooding nature, and I started to lose my faith in how much I would enjoy this novel.Â
I'm always interested in seeing how different authors portray werewolves and fated bonds. In this case, the werewolves can talk to each other telepathically and they can shapeshift into wolves, which means they are actually more of wolf shifters, I suppose. The mate bonds went both ways, meaning that both Silas and Junie could feel its pull. Therefore, the two felt very infatuated with one another, despite them only knowing each other for a few short days.Â
Silas and Junie's relationship is very physical, which is pretty typical when it comes to possessive wolves it seems. If these two wouldn't have been fated mates and destined to be with one another, I really wouldn't have appreciated how physical they get in such a short period of time. However, the fact that they were mates that were drawn to one another almost uncontrollably had me feeling a little more okay with their vibe. Still not my favorite thing in the world though.Â
I must say, I am intrigued enough by the magic in this world to read the first one if I ever get the chance. These books are really short, so I don't have to invest much time in them. They make for a fun little romp into a not so serious world, which makes for a quick nugget of a story to read between longer books.Â
Overall, "Mated for the Holiday" was a decent paranormal romance, though I can't say it felt like a holiday romance. My favorite elements of this one were definitely the wolf pack's strong relations, the snowed inn forced proximity, and the sassy nature of Junie's character. I wasn't a huge fan of Silas and his possessive nature, but he could have been worse. This steamy scenes in this one didn't super work for me, but it was a decent enough romance. This one is a short, spicy, paranormal rom com that can easily be read in a single afternoon if one so desired.Â
