In a fantastical world reminiscent of Tolkien's, Le Guin's, and Paolini's, an anthropomorphic young goat/dog creature sets off on an epic quest to find a missing elf.
Acheron is a member of the infamous da'kor. Despite the fact that humans and elves believe that they are a vicious race, Acheron is a gentle fellow who only wants to please those around him. When he meets a beautiful elf named Shiara, his heart is sold and he is willing to do anything to try to gain her love. This sets him off on a grand quest to find Shiara's friend Kayn'dar.
This installment is mostly intro stuff, so not a whole lot occurs. I find that it leaves me wondering what the rest of the books will entail though, so it is fine for a book one of a series. If it was a standalone the tale would be very bland, but we have a long adventure awaiting.
Overall, a quick read starring some fantastical creatures and a mystical world. I can't judge the series too harshly yet, but color me intrigued.

Acheron sets off alone on a grand quest, but he may need the help of some allies to truly complete his mission. . .
This installment follows Acheron as he gathers companions to join him on his quest. First up he meets a feisty thief catcher who also happens to be the elf named Lei'ella. Then they are joined by the master thief, Varden, who seems to have some dubious intentions. Lastly, the group recruits a young mage named Neirenn who is a bit eccentric and prone to get into trouble.
Not much happens in this volume minus recruiting characters. This webtoon series honestly feels like playing an RPG where you have to recruit your party before the action can begin.
Overall, "Inverloch" has been a fun read so far if a little slow. I am interested to see where the comic is going, though I wouldn't be surprised if not much happens in the next volume either.

Following the Archmage's strange advice (and with a little help from some magic), Acheron and his friends journey west to find the mysterious Silvah and see what he knows about Kayn'dar's disappearance. But the world proves to be a more dangerous place then Acheron ever expected, and he soon discovers what fate befalls any da'kor foolish enough to venture so far from home.

Acheron and his companions encounter some unexpected circumstances that lead to a daring rescue attempt in a murderous arena. . .
This is the volume where the action really begins to pick up. Now that the crew is all together, the plot is starting to begin in full. The group continues to search for clues to find their missing elf and the reader begins to learn more about the characters as individual.
I really love how much of this installment features around Lei'ella and Varden. I really enjoy their dynamic together and the fact that they are both hiding huge secrets from each other makes their relationship really interesting. I hope to see much more of this duo in the future!
I am really starting to enjoy this series in earnest. It simple, cute, and features a cast of interesting characters. I cannot wait to read the next volume!

Secrets are being unveiled as the stakes steepen on the party's quest. . .
This volume is much more action filled than the previous ones. The party follows their lead that the archmage gave them to a mysterious tower. Who they find within is about as shocking as it can get.
It is kind of crazy that there is only one more volume after this one. I have really enjoyed learning about these characters and the world of Inverloch. It has been a fun ride, and I am interested to see how it will all wrap up in the next five chapters.
I really enjoyed the Lei'ella and Varden content in this book once again. They go through some stressful situations and some of Lei'ella's secrets are revealed, so it was interesting to see their relationship tested in various ways.
Overall, I think that this serious has been a fun read and I cannot wait to read the conclusion!

The dramatic conclusion to the fantastical webcomic of "Inverloch!"
Well this was it, the final volume. Personally, I had already strung together many of the plot points that ended up occurring, so I wasn't really surprised by anything that happened in this last volume. I did like the conclusion, though I feel like it could have been woven together a little more seamlessly.
I must admit, I really appreciated Lei'ella's glow-up. Her outfit was so much more pleasing to the eye in this last volume, which I liked. Also the dress that she wears at the end? Beautiful! I grew to really enjoy Ellerton's art style, and I love the character designs. Also, I find it funny that neither Varden or Lei'ella looks like how they did at the beginning of the series on this cover; I didn't even realize it was them when I saw all the covers together when I started reading them!
I think that this installment wrapped everything up nicely. The character's have went through a bunch of stuff and their lives have all been forever altered. I was satisfied with all their decisions they made at the end of this novel and wish them the happiest of lives. None of them are going to take the easy way out and I respect that.
Overall, "Inverloch" is a fun web comic that I am glad I stumbled across at my library. It was totally worth the read for a fantasy nerd like me. The world was unique, the characters were quite colorful, and the story attempted some grand feats (even if they were a bit predictable). If you want a fun fantasy read that is done in a graphic novel-like format, I would totally recommend "Inverloch!"
Inverloch is a webcomic, so it can be read online for free. Only volumes one and two were ever printed, so if you are reading the hard copies and want to finish the series, you will be forced to finish them on Ellerton's site. You can read Inverloch at the link below:Â
