Review: 🌟🌟🌟🌟
An interesting paranormal read that explores a young teen who grew up in a pack of werewolves whose entire life changes when she is bitten by a werepanther.Â
Jade Stone is the daughter of werewolf alphas residing in rural Michigan. She is being trained to be the pack's wolf healer, a medic who takes care of the pack due to weres healing faster than norms. When Jade goes on a trip to Florida with her best friend, they are attacked by a black panther and soon find that they are now werepanthers. Desperate to keep her place in her tribe, Jade must convince her family that she is still the same person that she's always been and that being a panther won't change her dedication to being the pack's healer.Â
I thought that this was an interesting take on werewolves! The fact that there are other were creatures in this world is also really neat. The fact that Jade has to deal with being part of both the werewolf and werepanther worlds is very complicated and I was interested to see how everything would work out for her in the end.Â
A huge portion of this book focuses on pack life, but the parts that follow Jade and her friends at school are also important. In this book, Jade comes out as lesbian and works to tell her crush, Piper, that she has feelings for her. Jade also deals with drama between friends, tough assignments, the tortures of gym class, and all the classic high school experiences. I enjoy a good school story, so I found it entertaining watching Jade's everyday life as a student.Â
Another great part of this book was the inclusion of LGBTQIA+ characters. Obviously Jade is a lesbian, but some of her best friends are transgender and gay, so there is a great spectrum of young readers represented throughout the duration of this book.Â
The twists in this book were honestly crazy. Every time I thought this book was winding down, another big event would crawl out of the woodwork and surprise me. I wasn't ready for several of these events, but I'd be interested to see how they are going to affect future installments of this series.Â
The conflict in this one is mainly Jade dealing with the inner turmoil of being a werepanther in a werewolf community and trying to accept herself (as well as get others to accept her). I'm interested to see how the conflict will evolve in the next five books now that she has adapted to her new life as a were.Â
There were a few segments of this book that were a tad repetitive, but it didn't bother me too much. I just found that there were multiple sections in which something was said, and then the next sentence/paragraph repeated the same thing in a slightly different way.Â
Overall, I thought that "Wolf Healer" was an interesting take on werewolves and made for a unique read. Seeing Jade deal with high school life as well as her pack drama was very exciting. I'm glad that everything worked out for her in the end, but I'm interested to know how this series progresses since the main conflicts of this book were resolved. I hope I get a chance to explore the rest of this series someday, because I am very intrigued to see where Jade's journey as a werepanther and a wolf healer takes her.
Audiobook Note: This one is narrated by Andrea Kummer. I honestly didn't think there was anything special about the narration, but it wasn't bad either. I would personally listen to them read another book to me, even if they did sound slightly robotic at certain moments.Â

After bringing her home, small animals, and then people around town start to turn up dead.
Stolzburg has a rogue werewolf and the alphas have made it clear that Jade and friends need to stay safe. Just because Jade is avoiding the danger, doesn’t mean it’s avoiding her.Â

Review: 🌟🌟🌟🌟
Jade's pack deals with a rogue werewolf in this exciting second installment of the "Jade Stone Chronicles."
After learning of a young girl who was bitten by a werewolf and forced into the foster care system, Jade and her family head to Illinois to rescue her. The young girl, Pebble, is all alone after her parents were found dead on the side of the road. It appears that they were killed by a rogue werewolf that has a taste for human flesh. Now Jade's pack must hunt down the rogue werewolf before anyone else they love is killed.
I thought that book one was super interesting, so I was excited when the author offered to give me more review copies of the rest of this series. I think this one was less unique conceptually than the first, but it was still really fun to follow Jade's adventures.
In this installment, Jade's pack is working to hunt down a rogue werewolf. This adds a ton of tension to this book that the first one was lacking. It felt as though Jade and her pack could be attacked at any time, especially after Pebble joins their family. I can say that the rogue wolf plot was decently easy to surmise, but it definitely made for an exciting reading experience regardless.
Jade learns quite a bit more about herself and her strange powers throughout the course of this book. She discovers that she is what is called an epsilon and that she has abilities to see into people in various ways. She can sense different things about people including whether or not they are a wereanimal and even their physical and mental health. I'm curious to see how Jade uses her abilities as the stakes rise in future books.
Pebble was such a fun addition to the cast. It was different seeing a five-year-old werewolf having to learn to control themselves. She is such a wholesome creature, and I'm excited to see her mature as this series progresses. I know that there is a spin-off series following her after the "Jade Stone Chronicles" ends, so it has me excited that I'll be seeing a ton of Pebble for quite some time.
This book had many of the same elements of the first that I enjoyed. It was cool learning about werepanthers and how they differ from werewolves. Jade's friend group is awesome, and it was fun seeing some of them leave for college. Newfound romances also blossom in this one, which I thought were super legit. The LGBTQIA+ themes are handled with such care, especially those that involve homophobia and transphobia. I look forward to seeing where future installments of this series go!
Overall, "Epsilon" was another exciting installment in the "Jade Stone Chronicles." It was super fun seeing the shifting dynamics of Jade's friend group as some go off to college and multiple people started coupling up. The rogue werewolf element added a thrilling element to this book that made it bingeable. Adding Pebble to the Stone family was one of my favorite parts of this book. I look forward to seeing what happens next!
Audiobook Note: I listened to book one of this series, which is also narrated by Andrea Kummer, so I've really come to associate their voice with Jade. They bring her to life in such a realistic way, and I absolutely adored how she did Pebble's voice. Some narrators do children in such an annoying way, but Kummer did such a great job with Pebble. I'll have no problem reading more of this series on audio, because Kummer makes the experience easy on the ears.

Jade tries to live high school to the fullest while also hiding the fact that there are two wereanimals inside of her.Â
After all the drama with the rogue werewolves last year, Jade is trying to find a new sense of normal. Unfortunately, being a high schooler and an esteemed member of a werewolf pack is no walk in the park. Competing in sports while hiding her abilities has Jade on her final straw. She's glad that Sarah loves track and that Bevin is on the hunt for a new boyfriend, but Jade just wants a break. Luckily, her dad agrees to let her travel with a few close friends this summer to tour some colleges. Through it all, Jade must try to master her newfound Epsilon powers.Â
This one started a bit slower than the previous books in the series, but I'm a big fan of Jade and her group of friends, so I didn't mind all that much. The first at least half of this book is the friend group solely going to school and trying to balance their school life with their pack life.Â
It keeps surprising me how many different abilities that Jade has. She could certainly become an overpowered character, but she mostly uses her abilities to keep her pack in harmony with one another rather than fight, so it doesn't bother me all that much. The fact that she is learning to utilize other pack members abilities as well as talk to others at a distance is pretty slick. I look forward to seeing how Jade's powers continue to develop.Â
There is so much that happens at the end of this book. Jade has another crazy encounter with a group of rogue wolves. A character we've met in the past gets bitten and is forced to join the pack, despite Jade's vehement dislike towards them. José and Bevin are working through some things that will definitely be super important in book four. I was honestly shocked by how much went down in the final portion of this book, but I'm not complaining. It certainly makes up for the lack of action at the beginning.Â
Bevin takes much of the spotlight in this book, which is much deserved. Bevin is Jade's trans friend who just recently came into their wolf abilities. It was really cool seeing him contend with his inner wolf and his gender identity in this one. I thought it was awesome that his wolf seemed to understand who he really is on an innate level. I give Rahr kudos for penning this transition as she did.Â
Overall, "Alphas" is another fun addition to the "Jade Stone Chronicles." This one starts out a bit slow, but the action that happens late in the book certainly makes up for it. It's always fun to follow Jade and her friends and see what else they can get up to as they learn to balance their school lives and their pack lives. A ton of exciting things went down towards the end of this book, so I'm excited to see them addressed in more depth in the next installment.Â
Audiobook Note: At this point, Andrea Kummer is a very familiar voice. I've only heard them narrate this series, but she fits Jade quite well. I'll associate them and Jade with one another for all eternity and that certainly isn't a bad thing!Â
