Review: 🌟🌟🌟🌟Â
A small town second chance romance novella featuring an overachieving wedding planner and a semi-grumpy rancher.Â
This is my first book I have read by Lyons and I found it a pleasant read perfect for the winter holidays. I appreciated both Chloe and Dylan as characters; their backstory was interesting and their chemistry felt organic. The romance was on fast forward because the novella is so short, but they have a cute, clean romance that I totally approve of going on.Â
I think my favorite part of this novella is the fact that it takes place in a small town in Colorado. Everyone knows everyone and it felt super homey no matter where the characters went. It made the end scene work, despite the low odds of something like that ever happening. Despite it being unlikely, it was a perfect fairy tale moment that works well in a romance book.Â
This novella does have some major flaws though besides the rapid fire pacing of the romance (it is literally the exact opposite of a slow burn). My other biggest concern is the lack of detail. There are some really cute moments that are totally fleshed out, but so many others that are just mentioned in passing. I think this novella could have benefited a ton even from an extra twenty to fifty pages just to give a little more content in the story.Â
Overall, "Chloe's Second Chance" was a super quick read that is perfect for wintertime. I love the fact that Chloe is a wedding planner and that she is working to put on a grand wedding in her hometown despite her sudden disappearance ten years ago. A fun and sweet story that read like a Hallmark movie. I would recommend this one if one wants to read a cozy, small town romance that centers entirely around weddings.Â

My long-lost love staggered back into my life, his memories lost in a blizzard’s swirling grasp.
Now fate snows us in—the girl who got away and the man determined to make amends.
I’ve avoided romance since Jasper left me shattered.
Yet here he lies, that rugged frame still making my pulse race as I tend his wounds.
The strong arms that once held me now lie limp, his mind a blank slate.
His sea-green eyes seem to recognize me through the fog.
They rekindle flames I've kept on ice since our promise of forever was ripped apart.
We were inseparable—until the day my ambitions pulled me far from our mountain home.
His jealousies demolished any hope of happily ever after as youth’s reckless fire raged out of control.
A decade later, he’s back—a phoenix risen from the ashes of our past.
My wary mind urges caution, but my hopeful heart wants to rekindle what we once had.
If warm nostalgia continues melting my icy defenses, I may cave like fresh powder before his enduring charm.
