This page acts as a running log of changes, additions and removals from the website. The group will always be notified of large changes, but smaller changes to rules or world information which do not require notification can also be found here.
25 August 2025: Updates to Skydas trades & hierarchy
Former pack member information has been moved from Skydas customs & culture to a new section on the trades & hierarchy page, below the current ranks, for ease of access.
24 March 2025: Updates to brief history of events & timeline
During the initial move from DeviantArt journals to the website, plot Act titles were forgotten, so both history pages have been reorganized into Act structure, as well as updated with recent plot information.
24 June 2024: Requirement for submissions regarding ability development added to Introduction to magic system
In all submissions which relate to your character's ability, it is required for the description to clearly state what stage of the ability is being depicted. This is so that our gallery staff can more easily check it against the guidance and restrictions for that particular stage of development.
29 May 2024: Kol mateship and offspring information expanded for clarity
Flings are generally regarded with disapproval and the Alva will not approve of offspring as a result of them. Similarly, requests to have offspring between two wolves who are simply entertaining flirtations will be rejected. Having young is not a snap decision or something to be done on a whim, and a lack of care and attention in the matter of planning a family is understood among Kol to mean the character(s) will be inefficient parents.
It is a misconception that Malaysia has ever or will ever express that Kol should produce offspring to strengthen the pack. This is not true, so please don't base your plotlines around it.
15 May 2024: Changeling information expanded for clarity
The collection element of the Changeling ability is passive. It kind of works like they're collecting the image of another character when they meet them, and storing it as one of several options of forms to take in future. They take and collect the image of a character exactly as they appear at the time of interaction, and display exactly that form when they choose to employ their ability and put on a disguise. They can only "update" that image with any physical changes of the source by canonically interacting with them again.
24 January 2024: Minor expansion of Skydas laws and consequences #7-10
7. Consequence for lawbreaking: Minor. Verbal warning on first offense. Demotion to next lowest rank on second offense, and a warden is assigned to monitor behavior for one month. A third offense results in the offender being deemed ill-suited for Skydas life and exiled.
8. Consequence for lawbreaking: Minor to moderate. Verbal warning on first offense. Demotion to next lowest rank on second offense, and warden(s) are assigned to monitor behavior for one month. A third offense results in the offender(s) being deemed ill-suited for Skydas life and exiled.
9. Consequence for lawbreaking: Moderate. Upon first offense, a verbal warning is given. If significant damage has been caused the offender is demoted to their next lowest rank, with a warden assigned to monitor behavior for one season. A second offense results in the offender being deemed ill-suited for Skydas life and exiled.
10. Consequence for lawbreaking: Moderate to Severe. Upon first offense, the offender is demoted immediately to Omega and must perform menial pack tasks for two seasons, with a warden assigned to monitor behavior. After two seasons have passed the offender may take on a new rank, but a second offense will result in immediate exile.
Additionally, this kind of offense will likely mean the offender is barred from entering the seeker and emissary ranks, since they involve communicating with/observing other packs.
29 November 2023: Added 'Trade Inclusion' section to Skydas customs and culture
Wolves with disabilities (such as blindness, deafness, mutism, etc) are welcome to take up trades like any other member of Skydas. The east strives to be inclusive for wolves with physical limitations who are willing to work, provided this won't compromise the health and safety of the individual or that of the pack.
Assessments to determine what trades an impaired wolf may or may not choose are done case-by-case, since they depend greatly on in-character circumstances and what their exact limitations are. Here's a few example scenarios:
A wolf who sustains an injury that significantly impairs their mobility likely would not be able to become a warden, seeker, or emissary, but they could become a hearthkeeper or harvester after they recover.
A blind wolf who is accustomed to navigating the world without sight (or employs a familiar as a guide) would be able to join any trade, but a wolf who suddenly loses their vision would be demoted to omega (if they aren't an omega already) and restricted to the Hearth for their own safety while adjusting to the change.
A deaf wolf would not be able to join the seeker or emissary trades, since both require clear communication and the ability to relay messages to and from other packs, but they would be allowed to join the warden, hearthkeeper or harvester trades.
Players are encouraged to keep in mind what is realistic for a wolf missing a crucial sense(s) to be able to do when choosing a trade, and if you're unsure, it's highly recommended to open a ticket and discuss with the Alpha beforehand.
7 November 2023: Cursed Name section added to Snowflake traits log
From now until forevermore, any wolf who speaks these names will find themselves riddled with headaches and nightmares for several days. The cursed can cleanse their name as they would a magic ability, or allow it name to become urban legend, until others become too afraid to say it aloud… [The curse applies to the character’s full name as shown on their application only, nicknames are unaffected. This is not an ability.]
Beck, Mórgacht, Jackal
17 June 2023: Dreamweaver information expanded for clarity
The ability is akin to lucid dreaming. It allows the user to gain an awareness of the dreaming state, and use the power of their own thought to make concious and deliberate choices in said dream-state, something over which usually they could not exert any control. For example, a dream weaver might manipulate the dream of another to drive them to a new location or to have a particular experience. While some minor communication can be possible, the ability does not, and should not, act as a pseudo-soulbond, where the weaver enters dreams and engages in active, concious conversation with the victim that is remembered by both parties.
The weaver may appear visible in the victim's dream, or they may not be noticed by the victim at all, it's your choice! While the dream weaver can enter and influence the dreams of others, the victim never becomes aware of the weaver's influence and always believes the user (if visible) to be a fragment of their own dream. Like any other dream, the victim may or may not remember it after waking.
4 June 2023: Minor edits and additions to group rules
8.2 Players must wait 3 months before creating their second character.
10.3 Characters which are aged adolescent and under are equivalent to minors and should not be depicted as engaging in any suggestive manner, nor should be they be romantically linked to adult characters.
