Moon phases operate similarly to star signs- some believe that the moon phase a wolf was born below has a say in who they will grow to be. Not every wolf believes in the power of the moon phases, while some take them extremely seriously. Each moon phase has been associated with a variety of tree.
Moon phases are a required section of your application. Once it is chosen, it cannot be edited.
Your wolf’s personality does not have to match their moon phase - much like star signs, all moon phases are open to personal interpretation and the guidelines below are only advisory.
The Seeker
Freedom loving, unpredictable, occasionally wild. Thoughtful, genuine, determined. This moon phase is closely associated with new beginnings. The Elder tree can regrow damaged branches easily, and wolves associated with it are thought to be adaptable and quick to recover from physical or emotional trauma.
The Observer
Intuitive, creative, highly intelligent. Attentive, careful, should not be rushed or forced. The Willow tree is closely associated with water, and signifies emotional balance. Wolves borne of a Willow Moon can be easily overwhelmed.
The Achiever
Motivated, driven, quick tempered. Resilient, passionate, sometimes aggressive. The Birch tree is known to shed its bark, and is symbolic of change and renewal. Some believe that you never know the true self of a wolf borne under a Birch Moon.
The Leader
Nurturing, forgiving, loyal. Generous, confident sometimes to the point of recklessness. The oak is considered to be the king of the forest, and is thought of as a doorway to knowledge and power. Wolves of an Oak Moon are often thought to be destined for greater things.
The Enchanter
Spiritual, drawn to magic or constellations or other seemingly inexplicable things. Free-thinking, inspired by nature, curious and sometimes unreliable. The seeds of an Ash tree bear wings, and are symbolic of freedom and exploration, as well as sharing knowledge.
The Thinker
Intellectual, often introverted. Calm, collected, rarely appears troubled. Guarded, sometimes distrustful. Rowan trees often grow in unexpected places, such as mountainsides, and so are symbolic of tenacity. They are also thought to ward off evil spirits.
The Priest
Faithful, diligent, patient. Obedient, precise, dutiful. When it is cut, the wood of the Alder tree turns from white to red, as though the tree is bleeding - some consider this a bad omen and are cautious of this moon phase. Wolves of the Alder Moon are thought to be suspectible to madness or evil influence.
The Illusionist
A communicator, silver tongued, quick wit. A good listener, an appetite for information and knowledge. Cunning, a fast learner. The twisting boughs of the Hawthorn tree are thought to harbour magical energies. The tree is known to withstand powerful winds, as so it is associated with strength in the face of adversity.
Again, much like star signs, there is a well known moon phase calendar. Each moon phase is thought to be dominant at a certain time of year. Depending how spiritual your wolf is, they could feel particularly confident or powerful when their moonphase is dominant. Many wolves celebrate their birthday during their dominant moonphase, regardless of the time of year they were actually born.
