In Svajone, players are required to submit a minimum of 1 canon submission, per season (three months), per character in order to keep their place in the group. They must also comment a link to their submission on the Activity Check Journal in order to have it officially logged.
Activity can be any form of submission: art, literature, or roleplay!
The submission MUST be canon;
The submission MUST have been uploaded to your gallery within the current season;
The submission MUST include a minimum of 50 words in the description which clearly explains how it relates to canon.
This also applies if you are double-dipping and using an MCC as your AC. Double dips must have 50 words each for the AC and the MCC (100 words total).
Quotes, song lyrics, or other cool fluff we all like to include in descriptions do not count toward the minimum word count.
Memes, misc art, gift art, and any other such non-canon content do NOT count for the activity check.
The consequences of missing the activity check are as follows:
If you do not submit ANY activity for a CHARACTER in a season (three months), that CHARACTER will be removed and considered deceased in game
If you do not submit ANY activity for ANY CHARACTERS at all in a season (three months), the PLAYER will be removed and all of their CHARACTERS will be marked as deceased in game
If you submit an activity check to the group gallery but do not comment on the journal to log it, you are subject to the same rules as above. You must comment on the journal to have your activity logged.
Characters which fall inactive and fail to submit an activity check will be marked canonically deceased at the end of the activity season. Players have no control over the circumstances of death of an inactive character; their fate is decided by game staff as required for the progression of the main group plotline. In joining Svajone, players consent to the fate of any inactive character being relinquished to the control of game staff.
Sometimes life can get the better of us. We know that your outside-world life is more important than your RP life, and we have a duty of care both to those who need time away, and those who are left behind. As such, we have developed a hiatus system that is open, honest, and has clear terms of use.
Svajone offers two kinds of hiatus for different situations: temporary and long term.
A temporary hiatus can be granted to anyone.
This type of hiatus is granted to people who are still very much active online / able to access a computer / still active in other groups or on other online platforms, but who need a small break from Svajone and it's community, main plots, events or group RPs.
The member should still be able to offer a valid reason for the hiatus request.
A temporary hiatus acts something like an extension: the activity check is waived for that season, but in the following season when your hiatus ends, you must complete at least one activity check by the end of the first month. For example, if you requested a hiatus in October, you would not need to complete the AC for the season of Autumn (September to November). However, you would be expected to complete at least one activity check for at least one of your characters by the end of the first month of the Winter season (this runs December - February, so you would have to complete your AC by the end of December). The remainder of your activity checks are subject to the usual seasonal deadline.
This type of hiatus is permitted for 1 season only, for a maximum of once in a period of 12 months.
A long term hiatus is only offered to members who have the inability to reply, create, and maintain activity due to unforeseen circumstances.
This type of hiatus is reviewed at the start of each new season, with staff checking in on the member to see how they are doing and seeing how else we can help them.
The long term hiatus is intended for users who are experiencing huge upheavals or struggles in their lives (including but not limited to: extended study, moving home, natural disaster, long term internet loss, death of close family or friend, significant mental health struggles) and should not be used as a way to hold your position in Svajone while focusing on other hobbies.
If a user takes a long term hiatus and is found to be actively participating in other online communities, this will be considered abuse of the hiatus system.
In all cases of hiatus request, the request must be made within the first two months of the season.
Requests in the last month of the season will not be considered unless circumstances are severe.
You should do your best to keep only the characters you can manage, and make effort to complete your activity checks in good time, as you never know what can come up and prevent you from flying through your last-second save.
Many people look for a hiatus when their creative energy or attention is being diverted or divided. Remember that it is okay to be more interested in other hobbies: but it is kind, fair and respectful to consider the users still playing who may be affected by your decision to linger in a place you are not particularly interested in or able to keep up with. If you find Svajone no longer motivates you, consider all of the options before you ask for a hiatus, and make sure that you are not leaving other players or characters in a difficult position.
Every hiatus is granted on a case by case basis, and requests should be noted to the group and discussed privately until agreement is reached, at which point the decision/resulting hiatus granted will be posted in the transparency channel. While we do actively keep all members informed on hiatus decisions via this channel, we will never share the reason for your hiatus unless you explicitly permit us to do so, and we ask all members to be considerate and respectful of their fellow members privacy.
Abuse of the system results in ineligibility for future hiatuses, and in some cases, withdrawal of the hiatus offer entirely, even if already agreed and in progress.
