Each pack has a different hierarchy and different tasks assigned among their population.
Alva
The leader of the pack.
The Alva is the final authority of the Kol, and is believed to inherit the power to convene with the Keres spirits by ascending to this rank.
Jega
Second in command, and the most trusted of the Kol.
Hand selected from the ranks by the Alva, the rank of Jega must be properly earned. This rank cannot be purchased. Wolves must be ranked Vilte or above to be considered.
Masters and teachers of their chosen trades, they serve as advisors to the Alva and are the highest authority of their trade.
There is one Jega per trade.
Vilte
Meaning 'hope of the people'
The ranks of the Vilte are filled by trusted, well learned wolves who have proven both their unrivaled skill and absolute loyalty.
They assist in the organisation of their trades and filter down the orders of their Jega.
In the case of Indas, wolves who have reached stage 3 of their ability and are in complete control of their power, and who remain in the Indas to assist and teach others who are learning their new skills.
Kilti
Kilti means 'belong' and signifies that the wolf now truly belongs among the Kol. Kilti make up the majority of the population.
Wolves now skilled in their trade, or who have precious little left to learn.
Advisors to the ranks below their own.
In the case of Indas, wolves who have reached stage 2 of their ability and have begun to control their magic.
Eiti
Wolves who have newly selected a trade. Apprentices, who must work to impress their superiors and rise through ranks.
In the case of Indas, wolves who have newly discovered an ability and are learning to develop it.
Varen
Unranked wolves.
In ancient tongue, Varen means stranger - that is what an unranked wolf is akin to.
To remain a Varen in the Kol suggests a wolf is lazy and entitled.
The Kol do not kindly tolerate wolves who make no effort to take a trade or rank up. Varen are looked down upon until they choose a trade, and if they do not do so in good time, they will be removed from the Kol entirely. The Kol will not waste good resources on a wolf who cannot contribute to the pack.
COMING SOON: Varen will soon be forced to rank up within 6 months. An announcement will be made when this comes into play.

Dios
The army of the Kol. Dios are fighters through and through, trained to use their brute strength to destroy on command.
Day to day, they are usually tasked with the protection of Kol boundaries, and are often sent in groups to patrol the entire length of Magellan Brook.
A wolf who enjoys a violent streak will find themselves climbing these ranks quickly, for physical prowess and and a willingness to stop at nothing are traits the Kol hold in high value. Though sometimes likened to rabid wolves, for their fury and eagerness to shed blood, Dios should also be loyal and follow any command from their superior.
There is no place among the Dios for a renegade, and the Kol will deal with misbehaviour quickly. A reliable and battle-worn Dios will easily earn fame among the Kol.
Dios are expected to protect the pack, and do not have free travel rights. They may only leave the territory if assigned to patrol the Magellan or to escort a Rhete for safety, and in both cases must be ranked Kilti or higher.
Ocuuli
Where there is war, there is bloodshed - and these wolves are tasked with mending that which is broken. Combining natural remedies with calls to the spirits of the island, the Ocuuli stop bleeding, soothe wounds and halt infection.
Priority is always given to the higher ranked or most valued among the Kol, and Ocuuli must be able to treat wolves according to the Alva's laws without allowing personal bias to infiltrate their work. If both the Alva and the Ocuuli's own child were mortally wounded, the Ocuuli is duty bound to first treat the Alva, even if it means certain death for their own family.
Some Ocuuli enjoy pushing the boundaries of possibility, resulting in some... experimental and violent uses for plants and salves. The Kol have no qualms with testing new herbs and balms on traitors, prisoners, or even Varen.
Ocuuli are permitted to travel in order to forage and gather herbs, but only if ranked Kilti or above. They should never travel more than a few hours from the border and should return to within the territory within the same day.
Adnos
The Kol consider Remiel - the ancient ruined temple - to be holy, and worry that of all places on the island, their enemies may strike here knowing that it would hurt the Kol most deeply. As such, the northern pack have a trade entirely dedicated to the protection of the honoured landmark.
Although all Kol are forbidden to enter Remiel unless summoned by the Alva, the wolves among this profession dedicate themselves to the upkeep of the land around it and the crumbling staircase that leads to it.
These wolves should be physically and mentally sound, ready to defend this sacred ground from any method of attack, and to prevent any other Kol from scaling the stairs.
Adnos are well respected among Kol, and are usually the most spiritual wolves of the pack. They are often more finely attuned to the quiet murmurs of magic and spirits that have begun to brew on the island.
As Adnos are tasked to defend the temple, they do not have permission to travel outside the territory.
Rhete
Under instruction from the Alva, the Rhete will explore locations of interest on the island and investigate from a safe distance, before reporting back to their superiors with any findings.
Better seen and not heard, Rhete are to act as scouts. It is not the primary focus of the trade to speak to other wolves or flirt with the borders of other packs.
It is understood, however, that sometimes encounters may occur in the Freelands. When this does happen, Rhete are to avoid instigation of violence, and only act in self defense. Knowledge is power, and Rhete are permitted to engage in conversation with outsiders if they happen upon them, with the ultimate aim of furthering Kol's knowledge of events and happenings across the island.
Rhete should be sound of mind, more so than any other trade, as they must be able to navigate the Freelands - and those who wander it - without falling into the temptation of developing relationships with outsiders, or foolishly betraying Kol secrets to strangers. Rhete who exploit their duty in active search of the company of outsiders are akin to traitors.
Wolves of this trade should be keen eyed and nimble, and have a good sense of direction. Kol will not waste time searching for a Rhete who gets lost - if they didn't know the island well, they should have chosen a different trade.
Rhete who have proven themselves to be reliable and loyal may occasionally be selected to carry messages across the island on behalf of the Alva.
Rhete are the only trade who have freedom to pass in and out of the Kol borders as they please, as it is the nature of their work to explore the island and return to Malaysia with their findings. They may skirt the borders of other packs but are instructed not to cross borders or do anything that would compromise the safety of Kol.
Indas
The Kol are adaptable, and with changing times arrived a new trade. Established approximately 18 months after the Kol took the North, the wolves who number the Indas are proudly imbued with abilities, chosen by the island itself to be a vessel of it's ancient magic.
Wolves of this trade are freed from their usual responsibility and instead turn to solely training and developing their ability, working with each other or the Alva herself in order to learn the finer details and test the boundaries of their power.
The exact abilities of individuals may not be widely known, but all Kol are aware that only those who have magic number among this trade.
Indas are considered to be the Kol’s secret weapon and should be protected. As such, they are expected to remain within the territory and may only venture beyond the border when instructed by the Alva.
All wolves who gain an ability will be transferred to the Indas in order to focus on mastering their power. Once they reach the rank of Vilte, they may move into another trade if they wish, or may be moved into one by the Alva which is suited to their skill. Players should discuss with the Alpha player in this matter.
Wolves who gain an ability are automatically moved into the Indas as soon as their ability is made known to the Alva. They will focus on controlling their power, progressing through the ranks which now correspond with the progress the stages of their abilities.
When a wolf is moved into Indas, they return to the rank of Eiti, regardless of their previous rank. You do not need to repurchase ranks up to and including the previously purchased rank, simply complete the stages of ability progression required to return to them.
Barren are not required to move into the Indas, but they may do so if they wish, to assist others in their training and continue to explore if the immunity offered to a Barren is complete and total.
