Choosing to become official mates should be an important step in the life of your character, and not a decision you make with little thought and no development. As a result, becoming official mates in Svajone requires the completion of a certain amount of roleplays and/or collabs. Only after you meet these requirements will you be considered an official pair, and permitted to have a litter, if you wish to. All items must be completed by both players.
Note that we do not allow multi-parent/split genes litters. Only two parents can biologically produce offspring.
To register a mated pair:
Complete 6 unique items to show the development of the relationship.
You can submit roleplays or collaborations. At least 50% of the development should be roleplay.
To register a fling:
Complete 3 unique items to show the development of the relationship.
You ONLY need to do this if you plan for the fling to result in a litter. You are welcome to have flings in-game without any consequences, and do not need to meet any requirements in order to do so.
Flings resulting in litters are not considered official mated pairs in the eyes of their packs or the game as a whole, and you should not refer to them as such in character.

Once officialised, you may have a litter if you wish. These are required to be purchased in the shop, at a cost per puppy which is payable by the parents. It must be divided roughly equally between the two parents, and be paid from the soul counts of the parents, not any other characters owned by the players.
Characters must be aged Adult at minimum in order to have a litter.
Remember to take into account your pack culture. Some packs have strict rules about mating, and where this is applicable you must discuss with the Alpha player beforehand.
The costs are different depending on the type of relationship:
For a mated pair:
Each puppy costs 5 souls, to a maximum of 4 puppies per litter (unless you have a Magical Birthday Cake Slice).
For a fling:
Each puppy costs 7 souls, to a maximum of 4 puppies per litter (unless you have a Magical Birthday Cake Slice).
If you have a Magical Birthday Cake Slice and wish to use it, you must present proof at the time of noting/spending souls for your litter. You cannot add it on later. This item only expands the size of the litter, and does not have any affect on cost. The 5th puppy is not free, and the parents must still spend the appropriate number of souls to purchase it.
If you have a Free Puppy Token, you can waive the fee of one puppy. You can only use one token per litter, and the litter must have at least two puppies. This waives the conception fee, not the new character fee.
Puppies adopted by the parents cost half of the usual new character fee. Puppies adopted by other players are subject to the usual new character fee.
Pregnancy lasts 4 real life weeks. The date of conception is the date on which your note to purchase a litter is cashed. Exactly 4 weeks later is the date the litter will be born, and the date upon which players of the puppy characters may submit them to the group.
