Your wolf has gained a peculiar ability - they are able to discern information about an object simply by touching it. They feel something of a pull towards items, seemingly at random, and their touch yields a distorted array of sights, sounds or emotions associated with that object.

STAGES
STAGE 1: Beginning stage
Your wolf finds themselves strangely drawn to certain objects - usually items which have personal meaning to another, such as tokens or trinkets they have collected. It's like a pull, a string they feel an overwhelming need to follow, but they have no idea why.
STAGE 2: Intermediate
Acquired by completing three pieces of artwork or roleplay that relate directly to your ability
Your wolf finds that when they touch the objects they feel drawn to, they see a sudden blinding white light, and feel a sensation of some kind of emotion connected to that object. They might sense a feeling of sadness if they touch the stone wall of a place where someone died, or happiness if they touch a trinket given to a wolf by their loved one. The feelings are fleeting, gone as soon as the flash of light fades, and quickly replaced by a migraine - so painful that your wolf must retreat into a dark place to rest.
STAGE 3: Master
Acquired by completing a further three pieces of artwork or roleplay that relate directly to your ability.
As your wolfs' ability grows stronger, they are now able to see broken images or visions, and/or hear sounds, pertaining to the history of the object they have interacted with. While still fleeting in nature and difficult to interpret, the side effects previously experienced are much lessened. Your wolf can use this ability without pain, except in the case of an encounter with an object with a dark and negative history, which will result in a headache.
OVERALL RESTRICTIONS
This ability is passive and cannot be activated at will. The user cannot choose to see/feel a particular item, but rather is drawn to an item, seemingly at random. They are only drawn to one item at a time. They can come back to the same item several times but they cannot like-for-like replay the same encounter they had previously.
Unlike Soothseer, which may see snippets of the future, Psychometry can only see what has come before.
In terms of OOC mechanics: the player is permitted to use Psychometry as they desire in pursuit of their own personal plotlines. You are able to show your character experiencing distorted visions, sounds or emotions pertaining to objects and past events that you yourself control, or objects and events that other players have given you permission to interact with. Personal plotlines which make use of this power should only involve the player(s) own characters or descendants to experience events or recall information about events which have no bearing on or influence over any kind of wider group plot or canon.
You cannot under any circumstances use this ability to discern group lore or history. That means, for example, your wolf cannot touch Remiel and see what happened there throughout history, or touch the Spire and see how it was broken, etc. Nor should you use this ability in a way which is consistent with metagaming, e.g. Malaysia touches Yetta's dismembered ear and can see a movie of Yetta's entire life up until that moment.
If in ANY doubt, players are advised to consult with staff in advance of beginning any plotline which may undermine the conditions of this ability and indeed the rules of the group at large. Not only is ability mis-use punishable by the strike system, so too is the act of submitting content which affects the group canon and has not been pre-approved, so players using this ability should be twice as cautious.
You may sometimes be contacted by staff and provided with an approved Psychometry encounter which pertains to the plotline.
