The spirits have blinded you. Never again will you see the smile on the face of your loved one, or the rise of the morning sun. But, somehow… you can hear things you should not be able to hear. In time, you come to realise that they are thoughts. The thoughts of other wolves. The spirits took one sense from you, but they gave you another.
TIER RATING
This is a tier three ability.
STAGES
STAGE 1: Beginning stage
Your wolf feels a great deal of disorientation with the loss of their sight. They begin to hear a great many thoughts, but they come as a low hum or whispers, and they cannot pick out any specifics. If alone with only one wolf, they may hear thoughts, but barely above a whisper, often straining their ears to hear it. Without the use of their eyes, they are unable to separate spoken word from internal thought, only furthering their confusion.
STAGE 2: Intermediate
Acquired by completing three pieces of artwork or roleplay that relate directly to your ability
Through practice and process of elimination, your wolf seems to have deduced that some of the things they hear are not a willing confession. They begin to be able to split thoughts from spoken words, though thoughts still arrive erratically, and the wolf cannot control what they do or do not hear.
STAGE 3: Master
Acquired by completing a further three pieces of artwork or roleplay that relate directly to your ability.
Becoming more comfortable with their ability, the user finds it very easy to identify a thought as independent from a spoken word. If a wolf is feeling a very powerful emotion (such as fury, fear, elation) then the Faithless will hear their thoughts very clearly. Their unique insights make them fairly difficult to lie to.
OVERALL RESTRICTIONS
This ability is passive, which means the user cannot choose to activate it.
This ability removes some autonomy from the characters controlled by other players. As such, it is absolutely critical that you obtain permission from others prior to using this ability in interactions with them, and clearly explain the effects of the ability to the parties involved to prevent any confusion.
The Faithless cannot hear every thought in a character’s head. They cannot “read minds” in the conventional sense in that they cannot focus on a mind and pick through it like a book. Thoughts are often heard without any control or input from either party.
