Magic seems to have infused to your very bones and sinews, knitting your skin together in such a way that you can no longer be harmed by tooth or claw. You are by no means invincible, but you certainly have an edge in battle now.
TIER RATING
This is a tier two ability.
STAGES
STAGE 1: Beginning stage
Your wolf begins to notice that scratches from natural assailants such as sharp rocks, thorns, or tree branches fail to break the skin where they could easily have done so before. How strange, but perhaps just a series of uncanny coincidence?
In this stage, your wolf is unaffected by interactions with natural objects that could scratch the skin. They are still affected by high impact interactions with natural objects, where there is strong force or the object is large. For example, a twig would not break the skin, but a branch driven with force would cause harm.
STAGE 2: Intermediate
Acquired by completing three pieces of artwork or roleplay that relate directly to your ability
In addition to stage 1, if ever they find themselves in a skirmish with another wolf, your wolf now finds that their assailants claws struggle to make a mark. In this stage, your wolf can take 3 claw attacks without taking any damage. After this, they will be able to be wounded as normal - even trees break apart when they are hit enough times.
STAGE 3: Master
Acquired by completing a further three pieces of artwork or roleplay that relate directly to your ability.
The ability grows in strength, and now in addition to claws, the teeth of your attackers struggle to draw blood. In this stage, your wolf can take 5 claw attacks without taking any damage, and 3 teeth attacks without taking damage. After this, they are able to be wounded as normal.
In addition, bites and scratches from other island animals never seem to break the skin. The Oakflesh is still, however, able to be injured by hooves, antlers, horns etc.
In stage 3, as their flesh seems to behave more like the mighty oak, the wielder becomes more numb to pain. This makes Oakflesh a potentially dangerous ability for a more reckless wolf: they may not realise they are critically wounded until it is too late.
OVERALL RESTRICTIONS
This ability is completely passive, always active, and cannot be controlled by the user.
This ability does not offer immunity from wounds from the natural world, such as injuries developed from extreme falls, crushing below natural objects, etc.
Oakflesh only affects the skin and only in the ways described. A wolf with this ability is no less susceptible to sickness and disease.
A Barren wolf would be able to break the Oakflesh's skin in any stage of ability, for the ability will not work when faced with their magic immunity.
