Day 22

Rethinking Use of Experts In The Classroom

In this lesson we utilized experts in a different way. We provided each group dedicated time to work with experts to receive feedback. Additionally, we are working on students to no longer be static where they come with scripted questions and are so focused on the questions rather than listening and engaging in conversation. We are trying to implement some skills in conversational design where we empower students to be in charge of the conversation to ensure they receive the feedback they want guidance on rather than sitting and hoping it happens.

This is a HUGE mindshift for anyone so the more we can provide experiences like this event, then the more our students will grow confidence and learn that people really do want to help.

When stories feel REAL, TRUE, & AUTHENTIC the listener is drawn in, and cares about your message, it makes them feel invested in your work…today we receive VALUABLE feedback from friends at PBS so we can FEEDFORWARD…time to build, strengthen, grow & change
