Today students to continue exploration of materials available to them. While this step is very important they need to also begin to start the assembly of their prototype. Two major pathways of learning and it is our job to help guide them in seeing the connections when they get stuck.
We don’t have to have the “right answer”….the best learning is in the PROCESS…
We realize how many ideas we really DO have when we reimagine, build off of, & share IDEAS. …we have to take the TIME to TRUST & embrace the JOURNEY…
Over and over talking about the PROCESS of problem solving and learning to be embrace the PIVOT and SHIFT. Sometimes we actually abandon previous ideas.
Key to authentic learning in a classroom is to have trust in the students. Not just saying you trust them, but your actions to prove that by getting out of their way! Let them prove their genius!
Learner agency = locus of control within each learner.
We are learning together! The craft of instruction is fluid and moves back and forth every day.
This is a wonderful tool to help think through new ideas and roadblocks. This can be used as a guide for your conversations with students.
Also, it might be good to have a copy for each group when they get stuck and need to rethink ideas.
