Future

Dear Readers and Thinkers,

Systems are continuously faced with problems the world has seen and many that have yet to be seen. With a multi-lens approach, these systems must be able to reconfigure current ideas and challenge current thinking. Our systems plan for the future and the unknown by intentionally improving and producing what people have not yet seen. Being able to envision new possibilities requires systems to be innovative and agile in design and creativiity.

Now What...

It is time to combine all that has been discovered in our exploration of the past and today to now put our insights, knowledge, and creative genius to the test by moving into action. For the final stage you will be taking everything you have learned so far to develop authentic solutions for the future which is the world our youth will be living in quite soon. The challenge here is to not just obtain knowledge, but to challenge how we see the world, how we see ourselves, and to put the information into practice by creating an actual solution. We are not just talking about ideas, but making them come to life.

The Structure of the Future Work

There needs to be structure. A method to the madness. A way to help students develop the mindset, enhance the inquiry, and the most important element of taking complete ownership of the learning journey.

Below are the three stages to make this magic happen.

All learners will engage in a short learning experience to generate inquiry, interests, and new questions. Learners will engage in a short hands-on experience to lay the foundation for what is to come.

Learners will specialize in one domain of the project elements. Learners will build deeper levels of content knowledge, then work in teams to apply to complete coherent project of the team.

All learners will share their projects with other groups, experts, and authentic audiences. Part of this phase is codesigning the arena in which learning will be shared.

Is this real or some made up imaginary project?

NASA Artemis project

When these students graduate high school there will be people living on the moon for long moments of time. This is their reality and no longer a science fiction concept.

Our work is designed around the Artemis Project which you can learn more about here.

The work is real. It is authentic. And currently there are no answers perfectly figured out yet so there is always the potential for one of these ideas to be used one day in the future.
