OCIA  {Order of Christian Initiation for Adults} is the order of rites for adults wanting to enter the Catholic Church. Or who need the remainder of their sacraments of inititation (Baptism, Holy Communion, and Confirmation).  This faith formation process involves a thorough commitment to to an immersion into the Catholic faith. This involves an encounter with Christ with an initial witness to the liturgy, a presentation of the tenants of faith coming from the Nicene Creed and instructions on the sacraments of initiation. The attendee is introduced to the Christian lifestyle, to follow Jesus Christ as the "way." The attendee commits to participation in the instruction of the catholic faith, discussions, rites, and prayer life. OCIA is more than a mere academic approach to the faith or scholastic study. It is an immersion into the Catholic Christian experience of Jesus Christ himself.
