About RCIC

Order / Rite of Christian Initiation for Children (OCIC/RCIC) is a two (2) year faith formation process that provides the means for children and youth who have yet to be baptized to receive their sacraments. 

OCIC is for those who are 7 yrs -17yrs** and need the sacraments of Baptism, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation.* These are referred to as the Sacraments of Initiation.

The emphasis is on an encounter with Christ, through attendance at Mass, instruction,  prayer, rites, and retreats.

 Individuals 18 years or older who need the sacraments of initiation must enroll in OCIA/RCIA, Order of Christian Initiation for Adults.

(*) Confirmation is given to those twelve (12) years of age or older, who have completed the confirmation formation, demonstrate a mature acceptance to be dedicatred to the Christian lifestyle and have passed their confirmation evaluation.  It is not given automatically!!

(**) will be 17yrs of age at the conclusion of the 2nd year of the program.
