Dress Code
Appropriate attire for any liturgical celebration*
*This attire applies to all who participate in any liturgical celebration such as OCIA, OCIC Rites and masses, and youth and adult Confirmation. This applies to sponsors and godparents.
FEMALE
APPROPRIATE
Long dress or skirt.
Dress or skirt length should never be higher than the knees.
Dress Suit, Blouse & Skirt. No Bare shoulders.
no tight or "body sculpting" pants. If pants are to be worn they must be slacks from a pant suit.
Blouses must cover the waist. (no open midriffs)
Dress shoes & nylons or stockings.
Hair nicely done which is away from forehead.
If Baptism is going to occur then no Hair-dos as the catechumen will get their hair wet and this will make the hair-do fall.
Pumps or low base shoes may be worn. heals are not required especially if the person is not used to wearing them.
Shoes must be clean and in decorum with the total ensamble.
open toed shoes are allowed for girls.
Simple Make-up.
FEMALE
NOT APPROPRIATE
No see-through dress or skirt. No short dresses or skirts. No long trains (This is not a wedding)_. No hoop dresses.
No Micro or Mini dress/skirt - length should never be higher than the knees.
No Formal Dresses, No Bare shoulders. No Strapless dresses. No revealing or open Back dresses or blouses.
no tight or "body sculpting" pants. If pants are to be worn they must be slacks from a pant suit.
No see-through blouse or open midriff.
No 3" inch heels or higher, No Tennis shoes, No sport shoes, No sandals/thongs or exaggerated platform shoes.
No hair bangs.
No heavy make-up.
MALE
APPROPRIATE
Solid Dress Shirt Long or short sleeve & Tie
Dark Dress Slacks with belt.
Dress coat or jacket
Dress shoes (Black or dark navy blue Sketchers, Vans etc are allowed. But! must be clean and untorn!!)
Hair Clean cut.
MALE
NOT APPROPRIATE
Mohawks, or spikes
NO Shirts with designs or logos; No T-Shirts
NO body sculpting or see through shirts.
No jeans /denim, baggy pants, or shorts.
No Sports coat or Jean/Denim jacket
No Tennis shoes, No sport shoes, No sandals/thongs
No bangs, mohawks, or spikes.
