From the Office of
Catechetical Ministry
Dear Parents and Guardians of Saint John XXIII Religious Education Family:
Welcome to the new Catechetical year. Thank you for acknowledging your matrimonial promise along with your baptismal promise and the call by God’s Holy Spirit to raise your child in the formation of Catholic faith. It is a blessing for us as an entire community to endeavor to assist you and be a resource for your family.
In this journey of faith through the formation process of sacrament preparedness, it is the objective of the Religious Education ministry to work together with the families in the formation of their students.
As parents or guardians, you are the first catechist as well as the primary educators of your children. Therefore, it is essential to remember that the best catechesis is done in the home. This must include the parents openly demonstrating to their children the practice of their faith in the home, in the church and also in the world.
Thank you for the dedication, time, and attention you will be giving to your children. They will be forming their conscience to be children of God, disciples of Jesus Christ. The scriptures tell us that God rewards those who take seriously the actions done to educate, promote and encourage our children and youth to be good Christians and excellent citizens.
Sincerely in Christ Jesus Our Lord
The Religious Education Staff
