Welcome to this year's Religious Education program! As the Religious Education ministry here at Saint John XXIII, we offer our gifts of time and talents to Christ. We offer them in service to Him in obedience, out of humility and love for the building of His kingdom here on Earth.
As pilgrims in a hostile land our ministry is to journey with Christ to embrace the children, youth and adults of the parish. We, like the two disciples on the road to Emmaus who encounter Christ (Luke 24:13-35),
constantly seek to have our eyes "Opened" in new ways by His grace and through the imitation of Christ so that we may proclaim the gospel of His Resurrection and Salvation.
This period of catechesis offers exciting challenges for assisting the families of the faithful with their duty and promise to raise their children according to God's commands. As a ministry team we must attain a willingness to follow Christ's command (Matthew 28:19-20) through humility, to teach and share God's divine plan of salvation for all persons.

Loving God, Creator of all things,
You call us to be in relationship with you and others.
Thank you for calling me to be a catechist,
for the opportunity to share with others
what you have given me.
May all those with whom I share the gift of faith
discover how you are present in all things.
May they come to know you, the one true God,
and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
May the grace of the Holy Spirit guide my heart and lips,
so that I may remain constant in loving and praising you.
May I be a witness to the Gospel and a minister of your truth.
May all my words and actions reflect your love.
