Safety and Security
Safety Drills:
As required by local ordinance, periodic safety drills must be performed. These will occur as expeditiously as possible so as not to greatly impact the presentation and instruction times for catechesis. Policies regarding safety rules are mandated by state and local officials. Policies are issued in direct compliance with these ordinances.
Campus access:
Per mandated ordinances all persons on campus especially minors must be accounted for in case of an emergency. Any person along with anyone under-aged is not allowed to remain on the campus unless they are in an instruction session. Parents waiting must wait in their cars in the parking lot. Parents with smaller children or otherwise are not allowed to remain on the campus unless they are participating in one of the sessions.
Attendance:
Every student must be accounted for at all sessions and events. Guardians are not allowed to “drop off” their student. They must sign them in per attendance policy and in keeping with mandated ordinances. Any adult who “drops off” a student without a registered Guardian ‘sign-in’ will be called to return to the campus to complete the sign-in. Continued infraction will result in the student being removed from the program.
Students are not allowed to wander from the campus or field location for all prescribed sessions and events. For their safety any student attending a session or event must be signed out.
Fire Alarms:
The installed fire alarm system is intended for real “Fire” emergencies only. It is not to be played with or tampered with by anyone. Handling of this is for instructed individuals only or in the case of a life-threatening Fire emergency.
Any perpetrator causing a false alarm will result in a $3000.00 fine by the County of San Bernardino Fire Marshal and the costs for repair, replacement and reset of the alarm station.
Terror threats:
Any terror threats issued at any object of the program will be dealt with according to the full letter of the law. Any and all perpetrators will be ejected from the program immediately.
