The commitment is to attendd the weekly sessions, retreat events and Holy Mass. The process is about 9 - 10 months.
This program seeks to involve the candidates in an encounter with Christ through the liturgy, the teachings of the church and what God says trhough the scripture.

Bring a referral from the pastor or priest who will be presiding at your matrimonial service.
Do I need to go to confession before going to Confirmation class?
A Good question! It is not a bad idea. If you have found that you have been away from the sacrament of reconciliation, then go to your instructor and ask for a guide to this sacrament. THere is one online, just click here!
You will be encouraged to go to confession during your formation. and will be encouraged to go before you make the actual sacrament of COnfirmation.
When does the Sacrament of Confirmation occur?
This depends on the program you are in. Typically all events for the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation & First Holy Communion) begin at Easter and go until shortly after the Feast of Pentecost.
Confirmations occuring throughout the Dioceses must first be cleared the scheduled. All this is based on availability and the venues. Once the dates are shceduled then the Parish is notified. Once the Parish is Notified then the dates will be given to the candidates.
Materials
The Bible is unique. It is the written revelation coming from God as it was given to human authors who were inspired by the Holy Spirit.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) is also used.
The book, The Christian Life, is a simplified Adult Catechism aimed at helping Adults prepare to embrace the Christian faith in the Catholic Church. It begins by tracing the history of salvation wrought by Jesus Christ and the life he gives believers. The author believes that very few know what the Christian Life is all about. Who is to blame for this disconnect? The author discusses how the true concept of Christianity has been misunderstood. There are some misconceptions by which the term "Christian" is used today that are not at all consistent with what it means to be Christlike.
"Because Jesus is the revelation of God, when we fall in love with him, we can know God through him. For this reason, the New Testament can describe Christ as the "Author and finisher of our faith" {Hebrews 12:1}. All faith comes from and tends to him."
