PRECEDENT

See Brief History of Conflict and Full Chronology in the History section for an overview on how precedents have been used

Many analogies have been brought forth on the subject of Precedent vis a vis Northwestern University.

The camel 's nose under the tent was used in the 70's and 1996 arguments before the City re. the U2 zoning ordinance.

One City official warned the City: you'll end up sleeping with the camel!

Spotlight warns the city:

You'll end up with NU's herd of camels under the tent, and the tent will collapse!

Another apt analogy is comparing the Precedent to a Trojan Horse. Whether it was a horse built of wood or a an earthquake induced tsunamis that destroyed ancient Troy, the imagery is apt. Poseidon rules horses, the sea and earthquakes.
