Chronology

Chronology: from the Greek words chronos = time and logos = study.

Chronology is a synonym of timeline. We sometimes use the former term because "study" underlines the importance of research.

Spotlight's chronology delineates some of the events that have shaped the zoning ordinance that is now debated between the City of Evanston and Northwestern University, and also focuses on the expansion of NU sport facilities in the District, currently zoned as U2, in the 7th Ward.

The majority of this chronology is based on data from minutes and summaries of various City commissions and committees, ordinances, and Northwestern University material that was either presented to the City or is available to the public.
