Planning & Development May 6, 1996

In 2019, if an item is approved at the Planning & Development [P&D] meeting it is usually introduced at the immediately following Council meeting, later that same evening. In 1996, the issue re. pro-tennis was deemed for introduction by the May 6th Planning & Development committee, but the issue appears to have been only introduced at the Special Council session a week later, on May 13, 1996.

We don't have the verbatim minutes or the summary of what people said at the May 6, 1996 P&D, but the wording just after the Docket descriptions clearly show that the decision was made in favor of NU, and thus the item was to be introduced at the Council meeting. The first page of the May 6th P&D document shows that the relevant Docket item is marked as "For Introduction" and ,on the second page, as " Marked introduced - Consent Agenda".
