The Design & Technology (D&T) syllabus is designed to engage students in the process of designing and prototyping ideas through the application of technology. Through this design process, students develop creative, critical, and reflective thinking skills to better comprehend their learning and to cultivate related dispositions and skills using graphical tools and technology.
The aims of the D&T syllabus are to enable students to:
Cultivate thinking through doodling and sketching/drawing.
Experiment and prototype ideas using appropriate materials and tools.
Build upon their innate curiosity and creative abilities.
Students will explore the use of Student Learning Space (SLS), Google Classroom, and Chrome Canvas (Sketching App) – from research and ideation to prototyping and evaluation.
Our D&T students participated in the IgnITE Competition, where they designed and built a robot using recycled materials and brought it to life using Augmented Reality (AR) and 3D technology.
Students who participated in the competition in the 'Logistics' industry had to utilise logistics technology to complete various order fulfillment operations as quickly as possible."
Logistics Challenge - 2nd Place (Silver Award)
Our students who participated in the Logistics Challenge achieved 2nd place and won the Silver award. All participants shared the following reflections:
Real-world application of skills learned during the workshops.
Exploration of post-secondary options in ITE after N Levels.
Development of collaboration skills when working in teams.
