Through the various activities organised throughout the year, the students in the Girls’ Brigade were exposed to a comprehensive and holistic programme, enabling them to acquire a range of life skills. These included taking part in the National Drill Competition, Outdoor Cooking sessions, and other badgework activities that allowed them to venture out of school to take part in different learning journeys. These activities also helped them to cultivate values such as resilience, diligence, and perseverance.
During the year, the girls were actively involved in a key Values in Action (VIA) event called GB Friend in Deed, in collaboration with NTUC Health Nursing Home. The girls actively participated in every stage of the event, from preparing items for a school fundraiser to engaging with the elderly residents at the Home. Although this was a novel and challenging experience for the girls, it encouraged them to step out of their comfort zones and try their hand at planning and executing the event. Their efforts were rewarded with meaningful interactions with the elderly residents, creating cherished memories through this fulfilling and impactful experience.
