2023 saw a return to full normalcy for NPCC activities. Springfield's NPCC (Sea), one of only three sea units in the country, had a calendar filled with numerous activities. With the dedication and support of our alumni Cadet Instructors and NPCC HQ, our students enjoyed various courses such as the Civil Defence course and the Singapore Anti-Narcotics Association (SANA) course, as well as engaging lectures from the Coast Guard.
Throughout the year, we engaged in our Annual Unit camp and Adventure Training Camp (ATC), as well as embarked on Learning Journeys to the Police Heritage Museum, Home Team Gallery, and Brani Base. We also had the chance to interact with NPCC peers from other schools during CSI competitions and Area Sports Days. Some of us even had the exciting experience of live firing, which was definitely a key highlight!
“NPCC has taught me about teamwork and communication. I was able to work with my squad mates and our juniors to win a prize during one of the competitions we had. We also learnt about how to communicate with one another and to avoid having misunderstandings with each other.
One important memory for me was that I learnt about perseverance during the Kayaking Course. ‘Do not give up halfway simply because we are tired. Try harder and you will be able to reach the end.’”

My main highlight with the NPCC in 2023 was definitely the Unit Camp in March. Through that, I've learnt how to plan and organise a camp on a larger scale. As it was an overnight camp where we took our juniors out of school, it enabled me to do my best to maintain our Unit's reputation beyond the school grounds.
