Most English plurals are made by simply adding -s. However, there are a few other patterns and exceptions to keep in mind.
Listen and practice how the ending sounds. The pronunciation depends on the final sound of the base word:
/s/ Sound: Use after voiceless sounds (like k, p, t).
Takes, sleeps
/z/ Sound: Use after voiced sounds (like v, y, n).
Drives, studies
/iz/ Sound: Use after "hissing" sounds (like ce, ch, sh, x).
Dances, watches
Irregular: These forms change their sound or spelling completely.
Does (/dʌz/), has (/hæz/)
