Verse 22:1: 'O mankind! Fear your Lord. Indeed, the convulsion of the Last Day is a terrible thing!'
The Last Day is the time when the earth itself on which we live shall be approaching its imminent end. So will all human beings be approaching their imminent death, simultaneously!
The horror that will be prevailing then is exemplified in the next Verse 22:2.
Nursing mothers will abandon children being nursed, pregnancies will stand aborted, and the public will stand dumb with fear!
Allah Almighty warns mankind that the Last Day may befall anytime without notice, and then there will be the Judgement Day! It will be a dreadful Day for those who had failed to fear Allah during their temporary lives here on this earth.
