Coming to Verse 61:14, it says, 'O you who believe! Be you helpers of Allah. Alike Jesus, son of Mary, asking his disciples, "Who would be my helpers unto Allah?" and the disciples answering, "Allah's helpers we are!" So, a faction of the Children of Israel believed, and a faction did not. WE then supported those who believed against their enemy, and they prevailed!'
Allah needs no help from any of His creatures! HE has given mankind freedom of action - freedom even to believe in Him or not! HE has given human beings intelligence and the ability to acquire knowledge. HE expects them to recognise Him, without seeing Him, through their intelligence and knowledge. And, besides, He has sent His Rasools with divine Scriptures to guide them in recognizing His existence. Even thereafter, He has asked those who believe in Him to try and convince those who do not, about His existence. And, out of His magnanimity, He honours such believers as His helpers! If He wanted to, He could have Himself made them all (mankind) believe in Him.
And it is a historical fact that around the year 70 AD, those of the Children of Israel (i.e., the Jews) had their political power completely decimated and were banished from their own homeland by the Romans influenced by Christian St. Paul.
