Lakka
Last update 2024Lakka is the official Linux distribution of RetroArch and the libretro ecosystem.
Each game system is implemented as a libretro core, while the frontend RetroArch takes care of inputs and display. This clear separation ensures modularity and centralized configuration.
Powerful
Built on top of the famous RetroArch emulator, Lakka is able to emulate a wide variety of systems and has some useful features such as automatic joypad recognition, rewinding, netplay, and shaders.
User friendly
Lakka is easy to setup and use. Once installed on your SD card or USB flash drive, you just have to copy your ROMs on the device, power up the rig and plug your joypad and enjoy your favorite game.
Low cost
We try our best to keep the hardware required to run Lakka as cheap as possible. The software is optimized to run fast even on low end computers, and we support a lot of USB joypads.

Last update Project ClosedNetPi Plus is a Raspberry Pi 3 B+ project building on an earlier release attempting to build a network analyzer with comparable features to commercial solutions which can range over $1500. The project is open source, released under the GNU GPLv3 license. It runs on cheap hardware (the raspberry pi platform), and provides a large range of tools for network professionals and those new to the field. At this point, it likely is NOT a solution to replace a commercial product if it’s use would require guaranteed stability. It is, however, a fun project to get up and running, and can very likely be used in a home lab, school, hobby, or alongside a backup solution in commercial environments. What’s New? The Pi 3 B+ has a faster processor, and POE support (which I can’t use because it requires a hat which blocks the GPIO pins needed for the touch screen. The new NetPi Plus loads in about 18 seconds compared to 2 minutes for the previous versions.
NetPi, aunque es una distribución Linux, su funcionamiento está muy limitado para realizar solo el trabajo para el cual está diseñada, es decir, analizar redes. Si la instalas en tu Raspberry Pi, te puede servir como una navaja suiza para realizar test en tu red o si eres técnico te ayudará mucho en tus labores diarias de diagnóstico.
Incluye las herrramientas necesarias para un completo análisis, todo gratuito y libre, que en su equivalente comercial podría costar más de 1300 euros. Entre las herramientas tiene CDP/LLDP para obtener resultados a través del puerto RJ-45, DIA para crear diagramas de topologías de redes, test para ping, ruta y velocidad de la conexión, Wireshark, Wireless Scanner y ZenMap para análisis forense de la red y seguridad, VNC y SSH para el control remoto, syslog para recopilar información, etc…

piCorePlayer is built on a very small linux distro which is only about 12 MB, known as piCore Linux. It boots very fast and it is running entirely in RAM, it doesn't write to the SD-card unless you want to save a new setting. Therefore, pCP is very robust and you can simply pull the power without any risk of corruption of your SD card.

PlexPi
Last update 2018PlexPi is a ready-to-deploy, optimized and current Plex Media Server for Raspberry Pi 3 Microcomputers.
The name “PlexPi” is not necessarily the final name of the project since I feel there would be benefit to making this compatible with other boards such as the ODROID XU4. But that said, DietPi gets away with it, so maybe PlexPi is a good name.
System Requirements (1.3+):

PIPLWARE
Last update 2018PiPplware es una distribución de Linux de origen portugués para Raspberry Pi basada y 100% compatible con Raspbian, la distribución oficial de la Fundación Raspberry Pi. Esta distribución tiene como objetivo la simplicidad de uso, no requiere de de experiencia en Linux para aprovechar sus capacidades.
Con Pipplware se puede realizar casi todas las tareas posibles con Raspberry Pi que se pueden realizar en un sistema operativo comun, dado que nos permite sacar el máximo potencial de esta pequeña máquina. Por otra parte, es fácilmente escalable y optimizable para diferentes tipos de uso.
Una de las principales características de esta versión, es el soporte para la nueva Raspberry Pi + 3B. Pipplware 6.1 se basa ahora en la versión más reciente de Raspbian la cual fue lanzada el (27/06/2018) en lugar de Raspbian Jessie.
Como tal en esta nueva versión de la distribución se podrá encontrar todo el software incluido que se ha actualizado en la última versión de Raspbian entre los cuales podemos encontrar a los entornos de escritorio XFCE y Open Box, LibreOffice, Chrome, Kweb, transmisión, etc.
Todo el software está disponible para su instalación en los repositorios los cuales también han sido actualizados, tales como editores de texto, imagen, vídeo, servidor web, base de datos, archivos, herramientas de programación, etc.
Por su parte la aplicación de Kodi ha sido actualizado a la última versión estable la cual es la 17.6 “Krypton”, así como todos los complementos binarios.
También se hicieron algunas correcciones de errores y optimizaciones con algunos códecs de vídeo, tales como el codec HEVC entre otros.
También se espera incluir la versión estable final de Kodi, 18 la cual estará disponible para su actualización.
Retropie y RetroArch fueron actualizados
Retropie también ha sido actualizado a la versión 4.4.1, EmulationStation ha sido actualizado a la versión 2.7.5 y tiene varias características nuevas, tales como soporte para vídeos, nuevos temas con nuevas características, soporte para salvapantallas con imágenes o videos, las “colecciones”, “Favoritos”, “recientes”, “Custom”, etc.
También están disponibles para su instalación por varias otras interfaces de retropié u otra interfaz gráfica como alternativa a la ES para aquellos que quieren un aspecto diferente, como Mehstation por ejemplo
RetroArch fue actualizado a la versión 1.7.5 y también tiene nuevas características como soporte para grabación de vídeo y una nueva interfaz mínima opcional.
Por lo tanto, también todos los emuladores RetroArch y libRetro sido actualizados a la última versión.
Varios emuladores independientes también se han actualizado como por ejemplo AdvanceMAME, ScummVM Stella (Atari 2600) Fusible (ZX Spectrum), Dosbox, AGS, ZDoom (apoyo Hexen 1 Series Hereje, distensión y Chex 3) Mupen64Plus (N64 emulador) cgenious, etc.
En total hay ahora son más de 75 emuladores repartidos en más de 55 sistemas y consolas.
Características de Pipplware
Entre sus principales características podemos encontrar:
Retropie, más del 20 incluye emuladores para jugar juegos de consolas antiguas (ROM no incluidos por razones legales)
Escritorios Openbox y XFCE, similar a Xubuntu.
