Kupiki Hot Spot
Last update 2018 Project ClosedWhat is Kupiki Hotspot
This project is the latest version of the tutorial created first on my blog Pi Home Server Created on a Raspberry Pi 2, some functionalities and tools where not available for the Raspberry Pi 3. Also the tutorial was a little bit difficult to implement because of too many steps. That's why i decided to create a script that will help you to build your own hotspot automatically.
Once the script is executed, you will get :
A Wifi hotspot using the integrated wifi chipset
A custom captive portal based on coovachilli
The portal is served by the high performance web server Nginx
The design of the portal can be easily modified for anyone who has knowledge in HTML and Javascript
Register feature available for users
Must be activated via the portal configuration file
Security on the backend to limit access to the register API
An authentication process based on freeRadius
User/password authentication
MAC address authentication (optionnal)
An interface for freeRadius management
daloRadius is installed by default, served by Nginx web server
A full management of the hotspot, with batch for user creation, vouchers, NAS, etc.
The installed system have been secured using ANSSI security recommendation and is compliant with french laws about free wifi hotspots (R. 10-13 et R. 10-14 , IV of CPCE)

QLC Controller+
Last update 2014QLC+ is a free and cross-platform software to control DMX or analog lighting systems like moving heads, dimmers, scanners etc.
This project is a fork of the great QLC project written by Heikki Junnila that aims to continue the QLC development and to introduce new features.
The primary goal is to bring QLC+ at the level of other lighting control commercial softwares.
QLC+ runs on Linux, Windows (XP+), macOS (10.7+) and the Raspberry Pi.
QLC+ on Raspberry Pi is an optimized version that tries to get the best out of a limited device while keeping the whole set of functionalities offered on the desktop version.
Let's go directly into the techy details to let you understand what kind of gear is powering QLC+ on the Pi:
Supports every Raspberry Pi model.
A Linux system based on Raspbian Stretch, with a 4.14 kernel and optimized for the ARM architecture
Around 850MB of memory available on RPi2/RPi3 Model B when QLC+ is running.
Extremely tiny software image that fits into a SD card with a size of just 2GB and still leaves around 600MB of free space
Powered by Qt 5.10.1 directly running on OpenGL for fast 2D rendering of the User Interface. An X server is not present in the image.
Web interface access, including all the network settings to use a wired or wireless network
All the QLC+ plugins are available in this version, including OLA, UART, GPIO and a powerful SPI plugin to natively control LED strips and RGB LED Panels
Boots in about 12 seconds on a RPi3 (15s on Pi2, 25s on Pi Zero and 30s on Pi1, 27 seconds on a RPi 4).
They start automatically in operate mode and with web access activated.
It is possible to define a project to be loaded and started at boot time.
Here's a demonstration video of what QLC+ on the Raspberry Pi can do.
For the record, this video has been filmed back in 2014 using a Raspberry Pi 1 model B.
