Fractions show parts of a whole.
They tell us how much of something we have when it’s split into equal parts.
A fraction has two numbers:
Top number (numerator): parts you have
Bottom number (denominator): total equal parts
If a pizza is cut into 4 equal slices and you eat 1,
you ate 1/4 (one-fourth) of the pizza.
1/2 = one-half
1/3 = one-third
1/4 = one-fourth
