Venetia is the high priest of the temple of Itzamna. While she formerly adventured quite a bit, after the event formally known as the Judgement War, commonly known as the 'god war', where many deities perished, she retired to her duties as high priest of the temple. She is known to possess the artifact Woundhealer, and on most days, uses it to treat the sick and injured in the temple courtyard. She also possesses a relic called the Staff of Telon, a powerful healing staff that only an Itzamna priest can use in any way - it used by any other sort of creature, it cannot even be used as a striking weapon, will always miss! She has a devoted bodyguard, a fighter named Hawk, who has since taken up herb farming on a small piece of property outside of Aertael.
Venetia is a human woman in her mid thirties, but she is achingly beautiful. Those who have adventured with her over the years are all quite aware that Hawk carries a torch for her, but she has never shown any sign of returning his affection.
The temple of Itzamna also has a relic known as the Horadic Sheddim. Any three magic items, except for relics or better, can be placed inside in three separate compartments. If the item is too large to appear possible to place inside, it will magically shrink the item down and drop it into the compartment. Non-magical items placed inside will be removable; magic items will not. Living beings can escape of their own accord. If a living being is placed in the chest (or non-living beings like undead), and the lid is closed, magical items will disappear, but nothing else will happen – the being will remain inside.
If the lid is closed when the chest contains three magic items, the three items will undergo a transformation. One of them, randomly selected, will simply disappear, fueling the chest’s magics. The other two will merge together, keeping all the powers of the contributing items. If they are of different types, one will randomly remain in its form and assume the powers of the other.
There is no limit how often this device will function. If two charged items are merged, the resulting item will have the lesser number of charges, and will in no case be rechargeable (even it either or both were, previously).
This item may be linked to the infernal powers… or might not. It may even be a demon of some kind, cursed to a horrible existence.
