The "old" Baron Nero Trask (born 1080) is the patriarch of the Trask family. He retired from active governmental service many years ago, in early 1152, but retained an honorary position on the king's council, due to his many years of service and the fact that his daughter was the king's wife, Esrella Trask, born 1102. His eldest son, Nero Trask II, born late 1100, rules the family barony; his second son, Astar Trask, born 1105, serves on the council, and casts his father's vote when voting matters are under discussion. He died on December 2, 1165. A large state funeral was held on December 9. He was cremated, and his ashes buried in a large mausoleum near his daughter, Queen Esrella Trask.
His wife, Eleanor Stantnor, was born in 1082, married in 1099, died in 1106, about a year after her son was born. The Stantnors are an old military family, with many members retired from the army, and currently serving; as nobles, they all serve in the officers' corps.
The senior Astar was bed-ridden for quite some time prior to his death from age and illness, and is probably mostly kept alive due to the personal attention of his old friend, an Odin priest named Dellwood. The household staff is in the charge of a retired army sergeant named Blake Peters.
