Beyla was a deva-like creature who claimed to represent Frey; many of the players later decided that this was the god himself. He met the group outside of Loki's castle after the party recovered Frey's sword in Jotunheim in early 1163.
They were met by a being that looks like a deva, who says he is named Beyla, a servant of Frey, who will ask them to come to the Shining God’s hall, in his ship, Skipbladnir, which floats on the air. If they accept, they will be flown to Frey’s hall, Breidablikk. Laufey is not invited, but all others are. Laufey walks off; she has no interest in going to Frey’s hall.
Frey’s hall is a beautiful cross between a manor house and a castle, surrounded by forest, with signs of elves and other sylvan creatures all about – sprites, pixies, and many creatures that none will recognize. Plant growth is lush, the air is cool, smells of fields of flowers, and invigorating.
When they enter the hall, all weapons and items of violence disappeared, except Frey’s sword. The players saw faint, ghostly images of their items in their proper place if they had any sort of invisibility detection.
There, they were asked if they plan to give Frey’s Sword over to the god, and promised rich rewards if they do so. Beyla gave them their choice of fabulous jewelry, an immortal horse, a fighting boar, a magical ship, great mortal beauty, power of Sunshine, powers of plant growth, or the power to create a sacred grove once.
