In the mountains southeast of the City of Ice lives an ancient Ent, one of the original Ents, named Fladrif. He was slowly dying of grief and loneliness, missing his wife, Brethil, who was being held captive in the Frost Giant's castle, until she was rescued by the players and their allies on June 27, 1165. He is about 200' tall. He claims that he was wounded by Farslayer in the last days of what he called the "Ring War" about 12,000 years ago; in truth, it was more like 9160 years ago, but his memories aren't very exact after all this time. The party also removed Farslayer from his heartwood and turned it over to the temple of Itzamna in Aertael.
Fladrif has received many requests for his time, to confer about ancient history, knowledge of magic, skills, and the like. He has tried to be helpful, but he seems very concerned with guarding Brethil while she works her magic on the lands around the City of Ice. After a few days of people coming by for a few moments of his time, he goes quiet, and does not respond to any queries... until half a dozen small ents appear around him. They look like the picture below, but are only about eight feet tall. They sound much like he does, and claim to be 'sprouts' of Fladrif, able to communicate with this who desire such, but they will not travel more than a dozen or so yards from him.
