Eleanor Stantnor, wife of Baron Nero Trask, was born in 1082, married in 1099, died in 1106, about a year after her son was born. She was the victim of a plot involving Stafarin and probably Tiamat, the details of which have not been made public, but which the players know involved the existence and method of destruction of an item called the Dragon Stone, in which a portion of Tiamat's powers resided. The destruction of this stone would (and eventually did) force the queen to leave the prime material plane.
In June of 1165, she was raised from the dead, and began a period of healing at the family home.
She is a Diancecht worshiper.
In December of 1166, it was announced that she had been formally made Baronness Trask by the King. Shortly after, her engagement to Volkher Grendon was announced, with the wedding to take place in the summer of 1167, on July 11.
As of early 1167, she spends about half her time at Grendon. She has met a number of the people from the southern coast, and they seem impressed with her, especially Brigin Faelin, whom she also likes.
The portrait of Eleanor. It is somewhat stylized, making her look older than her 24 years, possibly to flatter her husband, who was prematurely grey.
Another portrait, showing her more like she truly appeared around the time of her death.
From Paraswarm's writeup of the event of her resurrection:
"While I was worried about Dellwood's part in freeing Eleanor's tortured soul, I was pretty confident that the friends I had assembled to help me at the end of the week would be able to perform their parts flawlessly. My biggest fear was the Trasks. The only surviving adult member of that family from the time Eleanor lived was the Old Baron Nero, and honestly I worried that no one would care that Eleanor was back alive, or worse, that they'd be hostile. After all, King Nimlaure Algarion had warned me earlier that the nobility tend to take a dim view of necromancy, magically extended lifetimes, and the raising of the dead. Fortunately, I had been able to parlay the monarch's request for my Ring of Kings into permission to proceed with this. Basically, I had taken the dangerous step (in more polite terms) of demanding that the Baron, Dellwood and Eleanor be helped, or I wasn't giving up the Ring.
I wondered time and time again what I would do if no one was willing to give Lady Eleanor the time of day after she returned. Certainly before Dellwood, no one from that House had even paid a visit over a period of more than three weeks. It was very encouraging when Dellwood mentioned that Nero II, the eldest son of the Old Baron was interested in being there when she was raised. I cautioned him that Lady Eleanor would be impaired at first, and not to expect her to be able to do much. I also took the opportunity to tell Dellwood that anyone in that family who was interested would certainly be welcome.
At the last minute, I begged Duchess Kibbles to help me obtain something suitable for Lady Eleanor to wear. Kibbles was invaluable help in scrounging through several vintage clothing shops to find the ostentatious sort of garment Lady Eleanor had communicated to me that she wanted to return to the world in.
Finally, Dellwood finished the Unpainting, and only a blank canvas remained. I contacted Lady Eleanor again via my Rary's Mind Scan spell, which I now realize probably should not have worked. However, I had been in mind contact for her much of the week, and she evidently has significant telepathic powers of her own. I tried to prepare her for what was to come, and reassure her that she had already survived the most uncertain part of the process. Eleanor put up a brave front, but it was clear that behind it, she was pretty terrified.
The next morning, the bard Siobhan and High Priestess Venetia arrived early, and we began the fairly morbid task of trying to properly place each of Eleanor's remaining bones into the dress I had bought. We set this up in the main temple area, so there would be plenty of room. The whole time, I remained worried about what would come afterward. Even if rejected by her family, Eleanor was not going to be tossed to the street! We'd care for her ourselves, if necessary. As the morning wore on, Group after group of visitors started arriving at the Balder Temple.
On my part, layer after layer of worry and tension lifted, as one Trask family member after another showed up. And most of these folks were either infants, or hadn't even been born when Eleanor departed! The Old Baron was even present, looking frail, and unable to walk. He was carted in on a wheeled chair, and was moved up right beside Eleanor's remains.
After everyone was assembled, we began with a few brief prayers. Then Siobhan played her harp, performing the strands of the Great Melody of Healing. The song was truly sublime, played in this temple built for the departed god Balder. The powers of the temple are mostly gone, but we could actually see magical streams of energy rising out of the stones, swirling around the air with the music, and imbuing the bones with flesh and life. Many eyes were glistening with tears, and the young princesses were all crying unreservedly. When the song ended, Eleanor took a breath, sharply in, and then slowly out. Her head turned slowly, and she saw her husband, the Old Baron... and she smiled.
The magic was quickly wrapped up, as Venetia gently applied Woundhealer to Lady Eleanor, and I performed a quick Restoration on her constitution. Tears, embraces and joy followed. I don't mind admitting that I was pretty overcome, myself. Eleanor and the Baron were reunited, and had a brief conversation of sorts. It was evident that the Baron was begging forgiveness for the events 5 decades ago, and that Eleanor was comforting him. It was about as good a resolution as I could have hoped for!
