Activities to be developed during the meeting:
Video presentations about the town of Monóvar, the Alicante area and Spain.
Explanations on different local economic sectors.
Activities developed in international groups so that students from the four different European countries had the possibility of getting to know each other.
Online talks and meetings with entrepreneurs and representatives of different companies, from different sectors (hospitality, industry, technology, arts and fashion). In these talks, students got to know the most important characteristics of these companies, how the coronavirus crisis affected them and how they reacted to these challenges, and they also knew the most important characteristics a person must have or develop in order to be able to work there. Students could also talk to them, asking questions about the most interesting aspects for them.
Job interviews / role-play activities. The students, in international groups, prepared job interviews that were performed in front of the whole group of participants on the last day of the virtual mobility.
Europe Day celebration.
Emotional education - emotions were also present in this virtual mobility since participants devoted some time to reflect on and share the emotions they had during the time of the lockdown
Methodology:
An active and communicative methodology is used.
The Spanish students were the leaders of the groups, and they guided the rest of the students on what they had to do. They were divided into groups of international students. In each group, one or two participating teachers were included so that they could help students in case they had some trouble (lack of communication, not knowing what to do at a certain point, etc).
The use of IT, computers, tablets and applications for cooperative working were essential, as well as an Internet connection.
Results:
Improve the knowledge about IT tools they can use.
Improve students' linguistic/ communicative skills in a foreign language (using the English language).
By participating in these activities, students:
Learn about new aspects and fields of education;
Prepare themselves better for their profession and future work life (language/ICT/natural sciences/humanities/geography/history);
Improve the students' competencies of using ICT tools;
Sharpen/widen their scientific and personal competencies, certain skills and abilities, promotion of knowledge the students need in the later work life;
Increases students’ motivation to study due to more appealing curriculum at school, preventing drop-out, helping to fight against absenteeism, showing them the link between school and work-life;
Support the European idea and European relations.
Improved their communicative skills in the English language.
Widened and sharpened their European identity.
Got some knowledge about the culture of other European countries
