Transnational meeting in Estonia, UUlu Primary school will take place from 31st March to 6th April.
According to our project, students has to develop two different activities to prepare the visit to Estonia:
Analysis of the different local economic sectors: agriculture, industry, services and tourism.
Each partner school has to research the local economic sectors of each area and share pictures, descriptions, videos both in their mother tongue and in English. Students have worked in groups and the activity is developed by two subjects- Social studies (in the native language) and the English language. All materials will be displayed to the web page ‘History pin’.
Research on nature, industries and sustainability. Students are doing different videos showing the impact of industry on nature and presenting different possible ways to reduce the negative impact on it.
Students with their teachers’ help have created the page in Twinspace where useful expressions and sentences are included in different languages. The idea is that students can learn them to communicate better when are meeting.
Estonian partners have seriously considered what activities will be carried out during the visit in Estonia, at Uulu Primary school. According to their plan each day will be devoted to a separate topic and jobs: local businesses, fishing, tourism, local farming and forestry. So, the first day of our meeting will be a starting of a project at school and workshops with local businesses, the second day will be devoted to visiting of fishing factory in Pärnu and fishing port in Võiste. To get better knowledge about tourism industry in Estonia, a day tour on the island of Kihnu will be organized, which includes different activities, visiting a local church, a museum and a lighthouse, a traditional fish lunch and a folklore concert. Apart from different activities, students will visit a farm in Kurgja and Kabli forestry program at Kabli Visiting Center.
