Activities developed during the meeting:
Latvian students taught the other European students different IT tools.
Visits to different companies, touristic places, traditional industries.
Sports competitions between partner schools, organized in international teams of students from different schools.
Methodology:
Students worked in international groups (previously arranged by the teachers).
There are many benefits of using technology in the classroom because students are interested and engaged in using technology, this creates many amazing opportunities for schools and teachers to benefit from integrating some forms of technology in the classroom and to make teaching and learning more effective.
They used an interactive, communicative and active methodology, in which the students were the leaders for others in the teaching and learning process.
Latvian students, in groups, had prepared different workshops and classes to teach the rest of the European students different IT tools.
Results:
Students
Improved the knowledge about IT tools they can use.
Improved their linguistic/ communicative skills in a foreign language (using the English language)
Sports competition between mixed (international) groups of students from different schools was held.
By participating in these activities, students:
Learned about new aspects and fields of education,
Prepared themselves better for their profession and future work life (language/ICT/natural sciences/humanities),
Improved competencies of using ICT tools,
Sharpened/widened their scientific and personal competencies,
Supported the European idea and European relations.
Thought about the real importance of nature,
Reflected about the skills and competences they need to continue developing in order to become a good worker in the future,
Improved their English language skills, communicative skills.
Students have assessed each activity during the project week in EVALUATION LISTS- they have written what they liked and what could be done differently to make a summary of the project.
As well, students from Latvia have evaluated the project - what are their experiences, what they have got from the project.
