The second day was devoted to fishing and forestry, so the morning started with the lesson at school- a short overview about Estonian fishing and forest culture.
Getting to know the fishing industry, students had an educational visit to a small fishing port in Võiste, where a representative of Võiste Harbor Company told students about a hard fisherman’s job, ports’ active work during the fishing season- navigation period there is from 1st April to 30th November, their fishing equipment and boats.
Getting to know forestry as an industry students had an educational visit to Kabli Nature Centre, where students could find useful information about natural values offered by the State Forest management Centre all over Estonia. Nature and forest-related themes educational program – a presentation, as well as a telling about hunting animals, using animal furs, were offered our students. The lunch at a wonderful tourism place on the beach of the Baltic Sea- Lapenina Restaurant, was one else meeting with a local entrepreneur.
Unforgettable for every student was a walk on Tolkuse bog which is situated in Luitemaa Nature Reserve. The trail winds through Tolkuse bog, across sandy dunes covered with airy heath pine forest and leads to Tornimägi hill, where is an 18 m high observation tower on top of the hill.
There is a large information board introducing the nature reserve at the start of the trail; the trail boardwalk. On the way everyone could read information on boards with descriptions in Estonian and English, the study trail leads to the largest bog pool.
The evening students spent together at school having different activities, playing games, getting know each other more, communicating and also meeting with a local entrepreneur.
