Sigulda Walking –sticks workshop
The walking sticks are the most recognizable and oldest symbol of Sigulda, developed along with the old valley promenade trails made by prince Kropotkins, thus becoming a great companion for a walker.
The walking stick workshop invites to enjoy the stick making process which boasts more than 200 years of history.
At Sigulda Castle Complex, everyone had the opportunity to visit the traditional Sigulda Walking stick workshop, going through the ancient process of making the stick and making their own Sigulda walking stick.
It was great to have a willow tree, each could create his own personalized Sigulda walking stick with his own burnt name. It was great acting and a feeling of happiness that an ordinary willow managed to a walking stick.
Going by Sigulda cable car over the Gauja River
Project participants had a ride on the Sigulda cable car across the Gauja, which was a spectacular sight for all of them!
Sigulda cable car offers a trip over the Gauja old valley, overlooking a charming landscape of several kilometres, including Sigulda and Turaida castle, Krimulda manor house, as well as the Bobsleigh and luge track "Sigulda". The cable car connects both river banks in width of 1025 meters.
The cable car in Sigulda provides the opportunity to ride 43 m above the old valley of the Gauja River from Sigulda to Krimulda, enjoying the view of Turaida Castle, Krimulda Manor, Sigulda Bobsleigh and Luge Track, and a wonderful landscape over a distance of multiple kilometres
The Sigulda cable car has connected Sigulda and Krimulda in a seven-minute ride over the old valley of the Gauja River since 1969.
