Activities to be developed during the meeting:
The Latvian students teach the other European students involved in the project different IT tools they can use.
Visits to different companies, touristic places, traditional industries.
Sports competitions between partner schools and/or mixed (international) groups of students from different schools.
Methodology:
Students work in international groups (previously arranged by the teachers).
There are many benefits of using technology in the classroom because students are interested and engaged in using technology, this creates many amazing opportunities for schools and teachers to benefit from integrating some forms of technology in the classroom and to make teaching and learning more effective.
We use an interactive, communicative and active methodology, in which the students are the leaders for others in the teaching and learning process.
Latvian students, in groups, have to prepare different workshops and classes to teach the rest of European students different IT tools that can be used.
Results:
Improve the knowledge about IT tools students can use;
Improve students' linguistic/ communicative skills in a foreign language (using the English language);
Sports competition between mixed (international ) groups of students from different schools is held.
By participating in these activities, students:
Learn about new aspects and fields of education;
Prepare themselves better for their profession and future work life (language/ICT/natural sciences/humanities/geography/history);
Improve the students' competencies of using ICT tools;
Sharpen/widen their scientific and personal competencies, certain skills and abilities, promotion of knowledge the students need in the later work life;
Increases students’ motivation to study due to more appealing curriculum at school, preventing drop-out, helping to fight against absenteeism, showing them the link between school and work-life;
Support the European idea and European relations.
