Wow, my 50 year journey has had its share of ups and downs. Thanks to God's grace, numerous mentors, a few priests and ministers, and a counselor or two, I've been able to stay positive and achieve a wonderful life.
After leaving O'Gorman I embarked on an 8 year process to become a dentist. My journey started at SDSU to obtain a BS is Biology, while enjoying 4 years on the SDSU tennis team. I met and married Audrey my senior year before making the move to Chicago-land. We moved to Maywood, Illinois where I had been accepted by Loyola University School of Dentistry. Professional school was grueling, but rewarding and I excelled on the clinical floor to become one of the top two clinicians of 128.
Graduating in 1979, interest rates were 19%! My plans for Brandon, SD were put on hold for two years while I assumed a part time practice in Garretson. I moved the practice to Brandon in 1981 where my brother Jeff joined me as well as my sister Jerri (a hygienist) in 1983. I was also asked for a divorce in 1983. This divorce ultimately became a landmark case before the SD State Supreme Court.
I married Evangel in 1985. We raised four wonderful and very talented children. Whitney obtained her Masters as a Behavioral Analyst and runs a teaching facility in Colorado Springs, CO for children with Autism and Aspergers. Bryan decided to switch career direction his junior year at USD from Med-school to singer, songwriter, musical recording artist and resides in Winston-Salem, NC, aka COMPANYON. Kelley is an excellent beautician at Aria in Sioux Falls.
On May 17th, 1993, at 3:00 am, I received a phone call from my mother, Pat letting me know my father, Dale, had passed (he was at Avera Hospital losing a battle to Chronic Lymphatic Leukemia). At 6:30 am, 3 1/2 hours later the same day we were on our way to Avera to deliver our fourth child Lyndsey Dayle. Lyndsey, a most beautiful and loving 15 year old daughter was lost to suicide while with me, November 1, 2008. After 23 years, Evangel and I divorced in 2009.
In April 2008 I finished a 5 year process to achieve accreditation within the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. I joined less than 400 dentists in the world to hold this distinction. Two years later in 2010, I spent two weeks at Columbia University in New York to participate in an Implant/Restorative continuum to achieve Fellowship status in the International College of Oral Implantology.
I met and found my present soul-mate/love partner online in 2013. Neither one of us felt we would ever be anything, but good friends. Judy Zeigler and I just enjoyed each others company and the more we got to know about each other the closer we got. We were both previously married and divorced... twice. We both have 3 living children (grown), who really like us. We have a very special mutual love, trust, and respect for each other. With all these stars seemingly aligned we decided to get married September 17, 2016. We now have 12 grandchildren and 2 foster children. Judy is a senior deputy states attorney for Minnehaha County.
I lost my passion for competitive tennis after rupturing my right achilles tendon (surgery) and later developing and partially torn right rotator cuff tear (surgery). I've replaced tennis with new passions for fly fishing and archery bowhunting.
These days are filled primarily with highs as it's not really work when you still feel the passion. I take great pride in having the ability to help people feel better about themselves and creating beautiful smiles is very rewarding. If interested, view my smile gallery at www.smilesrpriceless.com.
Looking forward to seeing everyone,
