When I graduated from college I moved to a small town whose main purpose was maintaining it's "dot" on the map. My first job out was working for a church as director of education and liturgy. During those 1st 5 years, I met my wife. We were blessed with two children and now 4 grandchildren.
With the coming of the children, it was determined that I needed to get a better paying job with more "earthly" benefits. I was able to get a job at the local post office. After 29 years with the post office, I was envious of my wife (a teacher) who had retired two years earlier and I joined her in that lofty retirement endeavor.
During our 42+ years of marriage, we have been able to do quite a bit of traveling having visited and experienced all 63 of the US National Parks - from Acadia to American Samoa, from US Virgin Islands to Kabuk Valley in Alaska We have also visited over 250 of the 423 US park units (monuments, battlefields, etc.. We have also been able to spend 2 weeks "bumming" around Iceland - going all around the Island. It has been quite an experiential journey. We have gone back many times to our favorites - mine being Yosemite (in California) and my wife's being Olympic (Washington).
My hobbies continue to be photography (landscape) and playing the organ - both of which I am not all that good at - but I enjoy doing it.
I am saddened in looking at the many people from our class who have passed away. Hopefully their good memories will be shared at the reunion this year and that we will keep them in our hearts.
